Or could try the Autobahns late at night.
No way. RHD car at 200mph at 3am on the wrong side of the road. Does not suit you Sir!
Summer early morning on the Frankfurt to Darmstadt stretch. Just don't do a Bernd Rosemeyr.
270mph is beyond the point where I have reached my limits. I have found that anything over 160mph is a bit challenging in terms of reaction times needed, braking distances and so on...

I think a nice banked bowl will be much easier for me to wind up the courage to hit 200mph.

Pah, I got 185mph (GPS) out of a Bentley in France. As said, when you have a 2-3 mile road, no traffic (and it isn't your car), why wouldn't you!?

yikes Out of a Conti GT?

Fastest I've gone is just over 155 (according to the speedo) in an SL55 AMG. It's on my long list of things to do before I die to do 200mph in a car though smile

I think he only had to reach 68mph and 1.6 gigawatts of energy didn't he?

I want to go a bit faster than that!

Indeed, but that was in the 80s John.

If you were to index link that to todays figures you would certainly be within the realms of a sonic boom smile

Ah, depends on what index you use, CPI, RPI, RPI-X (takes economist hat off and walks away to universal derision).....

Pedant point - 768mph is a bit much for a V12 anyway

88 mph not 68! Honestly!

And I'm sure you won't be going much faster than 68 in this country winkcop

+1 on that :-) And you might find me there too :-). But often, winter has less traffic on that stretch. Was little going on until Friday. Now holidays are over so I expect a lot of traffic starting with tomorrow... :-(

Yup, Diamond Edition with ceramic brakes. Once you got used to the power and torque, it became quite dull. Was very glad to get my DB7 back!
