First day of Aston ownership
Discussion
Congratulations! Yesterday was MY first day of ownership also so I know how you're feeling! BUT I enjoyed the experience so much I didn't have any time for photos or write ups! I managed just over 400 miles of random driving and on the 3rd tnak of fuel for the DB9! I think that alone explains mysummuary of first of ownership

Haha yep. I had to get home to do some work though unfortunately, so the car had to stay parked up from about 1900 last night. Congrats on the DB9 too!Zod said:
Reverse is like that in the manual cars too. It's just the ratio. Nothing much you can do about it.
It is worse on ASM1 cars as you have to contend with creep mode.OP great looking car coupe version of my old car.
With reverse I would advise 3 things
1 do a clutch learn each time you start it only takes 15 seconds
2 avoid reversing on hard lock or up hill I tended to plan it so I minimised reversing ,)
3 creep mode in reverse is a PITA only advice I can give is let it do it's thing leave ALL the pedals only and it will do its thing
Congratulations Damien,
This is a fantastic car and great pics too. Each word of your post reminds me of my first Aston day one month ago.
Exactly the same quality of service from AM Belgium in Antwerpen. Spending over an hour with the dealer that don't want me to leave the showroom ignoring any function of the tiniest switch.
Reversing is still a nightmare. Engaging reverse takes ages and the burning clutch smell invades the car after each manoeuvre.
I'm actually enlarging the driveway in front of my house to be able to half turn without reversing!
Getting used to SS takes a few days/weeks but soon become a second nature and far better than the Auto mode with or without Comfort mode (useless IMHO)
Getting used to the rattles from the dash (mainly from the GPS housing) take time too ... unless you listen to the excellent Premium sound system or maintain the engine sound system above 4000 RPM.
Wish you all good things with this "intoxicating" car (beware of withdrawal syndrome)
