There is no V12 Vantage with chassis number S00007. It may be on another limited run model...
Yes but vins are 17 digits so technically you can have the last 6 digits the same. The official line is there is no 007 but as I say, it’s a secret!

Thank you for your comprehensive explanation.

You mentioned Special Editions as being within the 1,200. This might need a comment within the Notes, otherwise the numbers will be out.

Is it only the two Carbon Editions that are within the total of 1,200?
What about the Zagato 63 built, and the Centenary 3 built?
It presumably cannot include for example, GT12, AMR, or V600, because they were produced much later.

For the Carbons, at present I am showing;

2012 - V12 Vantage Carbon Black Edition - Special Edition - 82 built.
2012 - V12 Vantage Carbon Black Edition - Limited Edition - Sill Plaque Example 019 of 40 - 40 built - Notes: 'Most to USA. 9 RHD. 31 LHD.'

Hi Jon, so to blow your mind further and answer the above.......
1. The 1,200 V12V coupes are excluding Zagato as these are a different model.
2. The 100 Centenary cars in 2013 were built across the whole AM range. 3 of these were V12V 6sp manuals vins 1370, 1371 and 1372, with Centenary plaques stating 98 of 100 to 100 of 100 respectively.
3. And yes the GT12, AMR etc are different cars to the original V12V and outside the 1,200.
4. The split of the 40 limited edition CBEs is US 27, Canada 2, Chile 1, Japan 4, Australia 6.
Not all 40 CBEs above are black! For eg, there’s Hammerhead silver, MF white, Red Lion and Flugplatz Blue in there too!
5. The 82 CBE cars you mention is correct. These are Carbon Black II (two) Edition cars vins ranging from 866 to 1342 with plaques stating Carbon Black Edition.
6. There are Carbon Black I (one) cars also. The first CB car was S00404. There are 192 AML Carbon Black cars between S00404 and S00865. I’m unsure if these have similar plaques.
7. There are also a handful of Carbon Edition cars (S00646 in Mako Blue for eg), and the plaque on the sill just states simply “Carbon”.

I’ll leave you to digest that lot wink

Thank you again Phil.

Finally (I think), is therefore my understanding correct, that the total (1,200) number of V12V cars does include;

Dec. 2009 - Carbon Black (first) - Special Edition 192 cars,
2012 - Carbon Black (second) - Special Edition 82 cars,
2012 - Carbon Black - Limited Edition 40 cars (with numbered sill plaques) (Most to USA. 9 RHD. 31 LHD)
and
2013 - Centenary - Limited Edition 3 cars (with numbered sill plaques),

and therefore
all of the other V12V Limited and Special Edition models, are NOT included in the 1,200 total?

The V12V Coupe (manual) is a Limited Edition. Is my understanding correct, that they do NOT have numbered sill plaques?

Correct Jon!!

I have to sadly report that my V12 Vantage -- no 3 of 40 of the last 40 sent to the US, in Satin Black -- was lost to a fire a few weeks back. Initial indication are electrical failure of some sort in the dash.
Yes, I saw, a sorry end to a great car, hope there’s a quick resolution. Are there any 7sp manual V12V available in the US?
I’ll update the Register. I few have gone over the years cry

Phil - hope you are well mate - as you know I have #889, so one of the 2012 Carbon Black II Edition cars. I have it on very (VERY) good authority that actually only 52 were made in total, (NOT 82) of which only 19 are RHD. So mine is one of 33 as it is LHD. If you want proof offline - so as not to embarrass my source - let me know.
Hi there, good to hear from you, I’m well thanks.
Interesting post and I’d welcome looking through your proof. I have the full list of the 82 but just thinking quickly for the reason for 30 difference...... this may be the 30 USA “final edition” cars that had individual number plaques? I have these confirmed as CB II Editions also?
I look forward to ironing this anomaly out wink

Engineers and Accountants are at the opposite ends of the scale. As you say, each to their own, but some people are fascinated in these things as I am.
I hope to convert you biggrin

How many have we lost so far?
Hi Kev, it's very difficult to learn of these cars being written off or scrapped, but i know of six that have gone.

Okay, to clear this one up, there are 82 CBE II cars, but only 52 of these are actually painted metallic Carbon Black. The other 30 cars are painted as follows:-

Satin AML Carbon Black - 19
Azurite Black - 5
Hammerhead Silver - 2
Flugplatz Blue - 1
Morning Frost White - 1
Red Lion - 1
Skyfall Silver - 1

Liam - In total there are 56 UK AML carbon black painted cars. But to confuse things, not all Carbon Black painted cars are CBE's! They are standard V12V's in CB paint only...

Not quite sure what you are asking but I recently acquired a V12S 7 speeed manual in speedway white with orange accents. Not sure if you have it on your list or what other details you need...
Hi there, thanks for the post and wow nice car! I was just making reference to the car that's just been lost in a fire and was asking if there were any potential V12VS 7sp for sale he could purchase as a replacement.
My Register just deals with the original V12V 6sp manuals as it's taking me long enough to find those lol without including the V12VS's!

Phil,

I am now wondering whether the 40 USA cars, might possibly be included in the 82 car total.
Edited by Jon39 on Monday 10th September 10:03
Hi Jon, okay sorry for the confusion, i've now had a detailed look at the Register. The reason the 40 cars with number plaques are nicknamed "The Final Forty" is because these were the last 40 Carbon Black Editions built!! I never actually realised this/made the connection between the two! The below number plaque states they are CB cars.

So yes, there are only 82 not 122 CBE II's. And there are only 19 Satin AML Carbon Black cars.

For your records, the "Final Forty" were delivered to, and their colours were:-

USA - 28 (Satin AML Carbon Black - 16, Azurite - 5, AML CB - 4, Skyfall - 1, Red Lion - 1, Flugplatz - 1)
Canada - 1 (Satin AML Carbon Black)
Chile - 1 (Satin AML Carbon Black)
Australia - 6 (AML CB - 4, Hammerhead - 2)
Japan - 3 (AML CB - 2, MFW - 1)
Switzerland - 1 (Satin AML Carbon Black)

When the V12VS came out with the new colour palette I went on the AM configurator and Ocellus Teal really stood out as the colour to have. Years later I can’t believe only 3 cars were specced in the UK this colour. Ive seen one Vantage in this colour and in the sun it is epic.
I suppose people didn’t have the balls to go for it, much like Mako when the original V12V was produced (only 7 in uk).
Cheers YT for the info!

Your car is very beautiful Tim, but I am fairly sure Phil's worldwide register is only for the V12 Vantage (ie. 6 speed manual).

I have an idea. The LordBretSinclair Vantage V12S Register. - wink
Hi Tim/Jon,
Thanks for the info. Jon you are correct but my spreadsheet also has a tab for the original V12 Roadster and Zagato and also the little talked about Development cars.
I decided not to extend to the S models because at the time of their launch, there was no limit to production numbers (advertised).
