Congrats - an interesting part ex scenario.

FWIW, I think the Corsa's are fine, especially for summer. Good lateral grip even in the wet. You'll just need to adjust how you roll on to the throttle - and switching to other tyres does not change that. In no case can you just stomp on the pedal.

Right Tom , the V12V, s throttle needs care, these cars cannot just be booted like a Porsche. Very exciting!

I'm still running the slide rule on a DB4/V12V part exchange? Does this mean the dealer pays you 300k back? I'd have both but I don't see them being a natural "swap"!!

Thanks all. Will get a new set of Corsas put on - It's mostly a summer holidays car so they'll do well I'm sure and I will feel my way carefully in the wet. Will post pics when I pick it up.

I used the DB4 in all weather and camped at LM in it, but given the prices they now go for it was starting to get a bit worrying parking it at Tesco's so I 'exchanged' it. I hope it continues to get used.

Do you have #516 on the register? 2011 CB
I am currently looking at it:

http://www.morriesluxuryauto.com/inventory/used-20...

Is my thinking right for the US, 2011 model year they produced a handful of CB cars, maybe in the range of 20-40, but no true designation on the cars, except for the options it had???
And then for 2012 they released a numbered edition of the CB cars, x of 40, but that true number may have been only 30 built?

So the assumption would be 50-70 CB V12V built for North America?

Let me know if I am thinking about this the right way.
Thanks!
Andrew

Hi Andrew. Yes I have S00516 on the Register. Here are the notes I have:-

Sold by Lamborghini Houston, Texas @ 2587m, $159992. For sale at Morrie's Maserati, Golden Valley, MN @ 18272m, $121990, February 2017.

The first US car is S00483, a Mako Blue car and there were 3 other press cars 484-486, the latter two both being CB.

I then have a run of 20 CBs 511-530 all for the US.

There were indeed a special limited number of 40 (only 30 confirmed in US), contained within vin range 1149-1258. Not all were CB though - I only have 4. Other were satin black, azurite black, a fire red and a skyfall silver car.

I will confirm later the number of CBs I have listed for the US, although still not complete.

I'd like to offer a different opinion if I may? The Corsa's aren't the best suited for the car. I've tried Corsa's and P-Zero's and gave up on everything Pirelli and moved to Mitch Pilot Super Sports - believe these are now called Pilot 4s? The ride is more supple - far less crashy on a bumpy road, and the grip in the wet is far better than the Corsa's. If you have the chance to try out the Michelin's - I would do so before going Pirelli. It'll change your world smile

Thanks. I've switched to Michelins on other cars and like them a lot (even if they stick to the garage floor a bit!!). I wish there was more empirical data out there and manufacturer help in this regard, as it's expensive to try them all out. For this car I've had to say what I want having only driven the car on an old set of Corsa's, and that was in London. So I will go with Corsa's as they were the OEM fitment and then see how I get on. I will change them in three years whatever the tread says.

Sure thing. I'd advise you keep an eye on them. The pirelli's suffer hugely from hardening of the rubber. I fear that age will be your problem (not personally!). After 3 years they might be very stiff.

I have 47 known CBs in the US so far. Not a bad guess.

Hi Phil,

Due to see Tungsten V12V tomorrow afternoon.

Also looking to view another V12V listed on Pistonheads earlier this week - 2012 manual, Meteorite, 9300 miles, 2 owners, originally on GN12EUE, chassis S00846.
Know anything about this car?
https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/...

Regards,
Ken

Car in very good condition, with good provenance and FDSH, although the usual stone chips and kerbed alloys would have to be sorted.

A couple of potentially more concerning points
- after a flat tyre and wheel replacement 900 miles ago, the 2 rear tyres are different, with a Pirelli P-zero Corsa on the driver side rear and a newer Pirelli P-zero AM8 on the passenger side rear - might this be an issue (although the tyre was fitted by a dealer)?
- on the Dec 2016 service paperwork there is an Amber note for "n/s bypass valve broken - new silencer required to repair" - will this affect Sport mode, and would it be a costly repair item?

Given that the car was serviced 300 miles ago, I am also loathe to pay for a pre-purchase inspection by a dealer, given that they would not be willing to put a warranty on the car until I had owned the car for 90 days in any case, and would then require a re-inspection before putting a warranty on the car.

I have said that I will make a decision by Monday.

I've been in Japan for a few weeks, so missing both my "children" greatly. Vanquish is with AM Bristol for it's first year service, with a pitifully low 2700 or so miles. V12V is off to BR when I get back for a couple of little jobs. Japan has been amazing, but almost 3 weeks without driving an Aston... it's been tough!
