Unlikely, and neither should it. Each to ones own.

However I am sure that the colour range (or lack of it)in new cars when options are chosen is dictated to some extent by a reasonable percentage of purchasers, even with AM's, having an eye on depreciation/residuals. Dealers are notorious for damping down the desire for a bold colour choice. This must mean that many drivers would like a different colour if available hence the rise in the number of cars that are wrapped nowadays.

Yeah I know - it's called resale grey (or resale red if Ferrari) for a reason!

Just a shame that with infinite choices of paint colour and virtually infinite choices of interior combintions, people go 'grey with black please. I cannot conceive of anything else. Make it look like a Toyota as much as possible'. wink That's what James Bond had, it was his choice smile

Twas different with TVR for some reason, some truly lairy interiors and exteriors, my Venetian Blue with Portland and Pacific Blue leather was quite sober at the time!

The other problem is, loathe as I am to admit it, they probababy look best in grey. Quantum/Casino is incredible smile

Le Yeti, I'm one of those weirdos who bought my Aston 9 months before I even knew Pistonheads existed !!

I loved the look of the car so much so that I had it transported 100s of miles for me to test. I had no idea that silvers / blacks were regarded as resale colours.

Indeed, the last thing on my mind was selling the car I was about to buy.

Which begs the question.....is it just possible that some people quite like silver / black Astons ? smile

A proper thread ! I got slated for even considering something that wasn't silver, grey or black!

If you like the colour, who cares what everyone else thinks?

And no before anyone asks, I still have not chosen my next one. Although if a white one, at a sensible price, were available I'd be sorely tempted.

Anyone got good pics showing both bodywork and interior in the same shot of Torro red with iron ore interior?

I don't hope so and it was NOT my intention when I started this thread. It's all a matter of personal taste.

Great colour, are those wheels chromed? If so did you get them done or are they factory?
No, the wheels are high gloss polished, not chromed. The car has the sports pack option and it came with the 5-spoke-wheels and I found they didn't match the cars colour, so I bought a set of DB9 wheels and let them polish.

You could well be right Annie....I shall have a nose on the AM site smile

Nope - can't find it, though I note that somebody on 6speedonline is looking for a picture of this new DB9 colour.

Yes it Amethyst Red. It used to be a standard Aston colour you could order, but looks like its been deleted / removed

Its far easier for me to just agree with Aston Annie! smile

Ohh, I've been comprehensively outmanoeuvred... Arctic Silver with black leather frown So the Land Rover!

I jest, they look great in every colour. My DB7 was Ferrari Titanium Grey and was a thing of beauty. Had I found a manual Volante in grey/silver I'd have had it, just got lucky with the Chiltern green.

hehe That was unintentional smile

I was just thinking almost every Porsche I see is silver, very similar to AM in that respect. The grey/silver ones do look good though, it's not as if they're dull flat colours.
