bump... as I'd like to know too please

my pressures were set the same as they were on the bridgestones 33F/36R but that might not be right - the check tyres message has been popping up so last night I raised the pressures slightly to 34F/38R and the message no longer appears... I still don't know if they're the optimal pressures though confused

Will the regular "old" 7 spokes accomodate 245/40 and 285/35 tyres please?

Oh and if I go for the Michelin PSS, do I need the 96Y or 100Y load rating?
Thanks!

Yep - got them on mine.

Re: loading, the specs are:

Factory Install
Front Bridgstone RE050 235/40 ZR 19 (92Y)
Rear Bridgstone RE050 275/35 ZR 19 (96Y)

Sport Tire (Dealer Install Option)
Front Pirelli P-Zero Corsa 245/40 ZR19 (98Y) XL
Rear Pirelli P-Zero Corsa 285/35 ZR19 (103Y) XL

I don't know if the higher loads on the wider tyres are because they assume you will push harder, or because the tyres don't come in the lower-load version..

Seems that the 100Y are a wee bit cheaper anyway, suppose there's no harm in going for the higher load version?

Currently on Oponeo:

Michelin Pilot Super Sport 235/40 R19 96 Y £164.00
Michelin Pilot Super Sport 275/35 R19 100 Y £192.00

or

Michelin Pilot Super Sport 245/40 R19 98 Y £167.00
Michelin Pilot Super Sport 285/35 R19 103 Y £187.00

So it seems that more sizes are now available in the Pilot Super Sport including the previous standard V8V sizes as well as the newer sizes for £712.00 / £708.00 a set. Seems very good value to me.

Go with the higher loading as the PSS has a MUCH more flexible side wall than the OEM RE050's

Can you please clarify that when ordering Bridgestone's we are to ask for AM9s but this does not apply when ordering Michelin Pilot SS as the standard Pilot SS (off the shelf) will be ok for our Astons?

Michelin PSS don't come in 'AM9'. And, yes, they are absolutely fine for Astons.

They are actually brilliant, far better than the Bridgestones.

Best deal I can find right now is for a total of £760 on Tyre Leader
£166 for 245/40/19 Michelin PSS 98Y
£214 for 285/35/19 Michelin PSS 103Y

Somehow I can't find the regular size 235 and 275 tyres as cheaply.

Will the above be OK on the original 7 spoke Vantage wheels? Pass MOT and ok for Insurance? Rolling radius and speedo reading?

I've got the same tyres fitted to a slightly wider set of V8VS wheels but I'm sure that they will fit the 'stock' wheels fine.

Yep.

Plenty of places online that you can check yourself: http://www.kouki.co.uk/utilities/visual-tyre-size-...

PS Tyreleader have very appealing prices. But sometimes the tyres that they send out can be a bit older than you might expect. (And this doesn't just include the tyres that they specifically sell as old). It might be worth checking the manufacturing date before you confirm your order.

And for prices tyre.shop.uk - compare the usual suspects online

I've just had to buy two mich super sport 275/35/19 having had a blow out last night on my beema (arriving home at 3am after a 5 hour recovery with a guy talking about his tattoos makes the London drinks get together almost appealing wink anyway.. I used event tyres.. £124 each, fitted on my drive within 3 hours of booking. Can't complain although the guy said I got lucky with them being in stock

Oops Yes.. 224... But that still felt like a decent price for the fitted at home service

It is. That's a very decent price.

Just a shame that Event tyres won't come out to me. Nor do I need a set of rears right now. paperbag

Guys - none of these online retailers seem to indicate if its Aston approved - what gives? I need Potenza 'AMR' fro my Rapide but only found one site listing this for the rears (only). Maybe its easier with AM9?

As I cant get Michelin PSS for the front (245/40R20 Y 95) I might as well get the OE spec?

Coming in at £800 for all 4 on TyreLeader for 20" is a nice surprise too.

I'll revise that - Camskill do show the Aston approval mark and are also sub £800 :-)

If anybody is looking for a set of PSSs, Michelin UK are currently doing their '£100 off (fuelcard) a set of 4' deal:

http://www.michelin.co.uk/tyres/special-offers/fue...

When I was looking for a set last year, this helped to bring the price down slightly below the Tyreleaders price. The offer runs out on the 30th April and you need to buy the tyres from one of their UK dealers (ie not Tyreleaders).
