The search facility is down again frown ... I know this has been covered before, but can someone tell me whether the squeaking clutch issue is a warranty item.. .I've got a couple of other things I want looking at so want to get this sorted too if its deemed to be a warranty item..

Thanks,

Richard.

No Problem. They will want your car for a day to wire microphones to it and then send the recordings to AM Tech. I have to say that the new one does not make a sound.... Much better than the annoying squeek.

Same is true for the DBS (manual) gearbox: I got mine replaced also, and it is a huge difference. It is not only the squeaking, but also a different type of cluth (the tech guy at my dealer said it is more "soft" then the original one) and there is new software associated with ir. Result is a gearbox that is more smooth and more "involving" imho.

Be aware that the sound file is required to get this fixed under warranry!

Am I correct that the cars affected are all 2009/10 build cars?

It was changed in later model cars, but not sure exactly when. I am sure the dealer could tell you from the VIN number.

Not had an issue with Jan 2010 car but I didn't own the car for the first 6 months so may have already been replaced.

Mine is a 2010, I had similar problem when accelerating away from stop sign. It was fixed with a warranty service pack. Off road for a day to get the work done, and never been a problem since. Cost nothing for the fix.

Well, did 400 miles this weekend. The car was awesome as usual. However the 'chirrpy' clutch noise seem to be worse.
There was also another new symptom, when coasting to a stop comming up to a junction, with the clutch depressed, on two occasions there was a 'pinging' noise almost like something was releasing. there's was no drama.., car performed without fault but I was a little worried. .
It's going in to the dealer on Tuesday with a snagging list so hopefully all will be sorted by the weekend.

List :
Clutch
Rattles in vents / sat nav
Bonnet alignment
Boot closure
Wind noise from drivers side window. (not too bad, but hoping it can be improved).

Well the clutch was replaced just over a week ago... Can't say I've noticed much difference , but havent had opportunity to do much driving since it returned ...
One thing I have noticed though is that theres now a slight judder when doing low speed manoeuvres, for example when feathering the clutch while lining the car up to put it in the garage. Notice it both in first and reverse....
I think this the first time I've had a new clutch in any car that I've owned.... Is there a bedding in period or does it need to back to the dealer?

I have this juddering too. My car now has 300 miles on it. I thought it was a characteristic of the car and am not too worried about it but will mention it when my car goes in for the intermediate tyres to be fitted. The other thing I notice is on start up there seems to be a lot of 'whistling' type noises from the front of the car. They go when the engine is warm so assume again it's normal. The only other problem I have is sometimes I can't lock the car and the radio also stays on after taking the ecu key out of the dash. Think it's a faulty switch in the dash ecu unit .
Has your mouse gone?

I had this symptom on my V8. It was apparently a known issue (slipping belt I think) and was quickly and easily fixed by the dealer. Could be a similar issue?

Mine is on Easter Break at HWM for a new clutch this week. I had the squeaking but other than that the 10k miles have been without any issues so i thought I'll take it in for a new clutch exchange before the warranty runs out. Will report the changes (if any) when collecting next week.

Haven't had chance to determine whether the squeak has gone... It was only evident when pulling away in a spirited fashion on an incline.
Will report back when tested properly

Got a new clutch fitted on warranty. Improvement on old clutch and squeak has gone completely and gears are easier to engage. On a curious note, the dealer brought the car to my home and left it in the courtyard. When i came home and tried to start it i simply could not get the starter motor to engage. All the lights went on and the check function worked but the starter would not turn the engine. I tried 10 times whilst pressing the clutch but nothing happened. Left the car and went to work. The dealer came and checked the car whilst i was away and found no fault. The car started as normal. This evening when i tried again i had the same problem - however i then tried to slide the key in slower than before and presto it started. Very odd. I have owned my V12V for almost 3 years and always use the same start procedure. There must be a different mapping of the ECU with the clutch so that the key needs to go in slightly slower than before - otherwise I'm just getting old.
