Thanks Luna.

I've always liked Demis Roussos too if you are able to secure some sort of backstage passes smile

Oof, and the neck ache that goes along with it next day! Happy times though, sure my head would come off if I tried it these days...

Soundgarden, Smashing Pumpkins, Pearl Jam and Nirvana fan back in the day. Now it's Nickelback, Hinder, Theory of a Deadman and Black Stone Cherry. I am far too old for that stuff but can't help myself smile

I prefer a bit of Bang Tango or Tackhead
This thrash metal stuff hurts my head
Oh and IMHO Satriani & Malmsteen make Slash look like a beginner.

Any of you Slash fans got the Velvet Revolver albums?

Stone Temple Pilots singer + G&R guitarist = honest, catchy rock smile

For all you guitarist aficionados out there, may I just throw Joe Bonamassa into the mix!

Sublime.

Joe Satriani and Yngwie Malmsteen are both technically superb but I just don't think they have the honesty or passion that Slash has (or many other guitarists possess, for that matter). I have Surfing With The Alien and whilst I can appreciate it as being technically excellent, it's a pretty bland and forgettable experience.

Never thought this thread would get to four pages.

I had you as a paragon of taste, Yeti, until you mentioned the "N" word.

Seriousy, man, Nickelback? Worst. Band. Ever. (with the natural 'IMO' disclaimer!). Keep the roof up when you're listening to that one smile

To drag this conversation into the 21st century, please check out El Camino by The Black Keys. Rock album of last year.

Nothing quite so personal as music taste. Even more than car colour... smile

I guess that's why they don't sell any albums then..?

They're a good band who make catchy songs with memorable riffs and silly lyrics, it's trendy not to like them as they're successful and a bit cheesy. Good driving music, good gym music and I really don't think I have ever given a crap what anyone else thinks smile

To a point I'd agree
My fault - I'm a bit technically geeky as you may have noticed wink
