The Locktons policy via AMOC provides fantastic coverage. The insurer Chubb Insurance has won many awards for claims service. They get my vote for my p& j!

Seriously..... A 17 year old is FC on your policy?? Holy crap that is crazy. That said my 19 year old son would probably wash all my cars for 1 drive of my V12V, so it could be worth it!! biggrin

Yes it's a very useful policy - excess is increased to 500 for under 21's or under 25's without performance car experience. I have had some interesting offers from the neighbour's daughter biggrin

Chubb is fantastic, although not all 'Chubb' policies are the same. Chubb Masterpiece has any car, any driver - so, with my permission, each and everyone of you - regardless of age if you have a licence - would be insured to drive any one of my cars. Yeah, I'm doing it for you.

This doesn't include family.

Double bonus.

I'm with Chubb for the final 2 days now. It has been a great deal over the last 12 months.

One drawback with the Lockton's policy - may be different to the Masterpiece one and, if so, the price will be different too - was the lack of 3rd party cover for other cars.

Although I didn't require it, I found it ironic that my BMW Insurance covered me for driving the Aston, albeit 3rd party only, but my Aston policy covered me for no other cars at all frown

Just renewed my insurance, it's gone down a huge amount and I have a huge smile on my face; apparently I'm getting old enough to drive a car like this.

For what it's worth, last night I went to my garage just to get my iPod from my car and a few minutes shy of 2 hours later I took out the key.

Masterpiece policies cover the named drivers and anyone who is not family or resides at the address to drive the car, and the named drivers to drive any other car except for those that are a part of the household or available for regular use. So my policy covers me to drive your car (and you to drive mine) but not me to drive my wife's. I believe it is this any car, any driver addition that separates Masterpiece from the others, in both coverage and premium!

Just received my renewal, I won't be with Lockton for the next 12 months - 600 more than Admiral...

+1 for Locktons.

Agreed replacement value (not market value), free AMOC membership and good people to deal with.

1250 for a V8V of similar value (40k), although with a miserly 380 BHP smile

33, clean license, living in SE1 (aka The Ghetto).

Assume DB9 also has a Tracker?
+1 for Locktons.

I'm 37, clean license, living in SE11 (close to SE1 border, even more ghetto!), 400hp V8V, about £800.

Locktons here too.

26 yrs old, 0 NCB living in SE1 insured my '05 DB9 at £1,150. Bargain for my circumstances and great cover to boot.

That's very interesting, I'm 24 yrs old, 7 yrs NCB in SW1 with an '09 V8V and Locktons wouldn't quote (i.e. £5k++)

I suspect it's down to the DB9 being the more gentlemanly car rather than the chavvier V8V wink

Also I believe Locktons weight their premiums based on car value. I imagine an '08 V8V is 30-50% more valuable than a '05 DB9. Also, mine is kept in a secure garage although they said I didn't need to subscribe to the tracker.

I detect a soupcon of sarcasm in George's posting James.
