Having just been out for a fag and looking at my own car it seems the mirrors on this one are actully moulded into the door itself similar to the One 77. Am I making sense? confused

Looks well disguised to me to fool us into thinking its a cross between a Vanq and a Virage. I am hoping is it more 'all new' than that, the constant slight tweaking of the VH platform is getting a bit tired now, but then again I guess the 911 has done that for all its life! Although saying that I like the rear arches!!

No, you're not Nick'otine.

Nor should you be smoking young man.

My last fag was over 5 years ago.....now I'm just an alcoholic smile

If it's going to look close to that test mule then I think it's a great development of the existing DB9/DBS. More aggresive than the DB9 without the somewhat stuck-on bodykit looks of the DBS. And it's got the Vanquish's beautiful rear haunches.

Could be close to perfection for me, although you just know that people will complain that it looks the same as the outgoing model.

In the first and third image it looks like the rear wheels are 18" and the fronts are 20".

I love car design, a small angle change can completely alter the perception of a car.

I do like this design and I'm looking forward to seeing it in the flesh/metal/fibre?

Can't be the DB9 replacement, far too aggressive and purposeful looking for that. It will scare the existing owners! wink
Got hints of a Vanquish at the rear three quarters.
Like the look of that

If this really is what the DB9 replacement will look like (as opposed to being very well disguised), it will certainly cause the value of current DB9s to increase substantially. DB9 owners should send in a letter to Dr. Bez for making their cars worth more...hehe

Virage replacement? They couldn't have been out a year yet?

How can you replace two very different cars with one? And yes, the Virage has only been out a year, bearing in mind the average lifecycle of 7 years I doubt they'll replace it.

They aren't very different at all, little bit more power, CCMs, Rapide lights, few differing plastic body panels. And sadly auto only. I suppose the new DB9 will not have a manual option, just makes a better case to keep mine long term.

Is it possible it's not a replacement at all and maybe just an entirely new model?
Looks rather aggressive to be DB9 successor. Perhaps DBS replacement and a more refined version for DB10?
What's the official Aston word (if any?)
DBX maybe? So DB9 and DBS become 1 and Virage is the DB9 replacement?

Bit short on the nose for my liking, but hey different strikes for different folks! :-D

Isn't it about time the DB9 name was put to bed? The DB7 did 10 years service, it doesn't make a lot of sense having the DB9 name on a new car.

Yeti already is working on the DB11 or should that be DB9/11

No capacity at Gaydon for a new model. In addition they want to bring Rapide production into Gaydon so need to lose one model. Hence two become one. Not saying any more wink

DB7 evolved from the 6 cylinder to the Vantage, but was totally and utterly replaced in every way for a new car, the DB9.

This car is going to be a re-skinning (albeit heavy) of the DB9 VH platform again with the same mechanicals. It's not a new car, so I think sticking with the DB9 moniker is appropriate rather than moving to DB10 or 11. However, it'd be a stuggle to not give it some new name to differentiate and they can hardly call it 'DB9 Vantage' or the Goldie Looking Chain tracksuit-mob will be up in arms. Maybe they'll keep Virage, Virage 2 maybe? I head they were dropping the DB name anyway.

Although I do like 'DBX' with the 'X' representing ten smile
