Unfortunately you've hit the nail right on the head. It is also making me prejudice, but rest assured there are still some good people out there. There are some dodgy looking kids around my area and they were recently looking at the cars from across the road. I decided to take a different approach and rather than tell them to go away told them if they wanted to look at the cars to come over and sit in them whilst I mowed the lawn. It made their day and that evening one of the mums came over and thanked me.
I now kind of feel like they will keep an eye on the cars as they have seen I'm just a normal person who has a passion for exotic cars.
To the OP I hope you get it sorted soon. I can't even begin to imagine how gutting it is.

Much like our national soccerball team, I don't believe this minority of scum and scrotes represent me or my country. I'm still proud to be English and via of the act of Union, British, as I am >nothing< like them. Sure you don't get car scratching in the US. But you get guns in schools and obesity epidemic. You don't get car scratching in France, but you get riots and strikes we couldn't comprehend and brutality to anyone who looks North African. All countries have their problems...

God knows I've paid enough tax to have a clear conscience. Owned a few Sciroccos and will always love them, but this thing really shifts and is in a different league. This was new, the VW was old by then and the Corrado never appealed in the same way... Targa top sold it to me really, this is my second one Certainly an odd choice for 37yr old to run alongside the DB9...
Wow, that's awful. Really sad to see this. Do these attacks tend to happen at night? To cars parked outside?
Vandalism like this happens in the U.S., but it is relatively rare. I think most here admire something as beautiful as an Aston and wouldn't do something like this. Maybe there is somewhat of an attitude of "someday I might have something like that" here.

Targa tops are cool but what do you do with the panels if you take them out? Do they fit in the boot ok?

They have a special padded bag in the boot which they slip into, which then clips to the side of the boot so they can't slide around. It's neat stuff like that that sometimes make you wonder how and why Rover went out of business. For a 21yr old car, it's brilliant!! My old 964 targa roof... well you had the option of it taking ALL of the bonnet space or ALL of the back seat space. I reckon that's about right. Yanks tend to have the 'one day I'll have one' attitude - the so-called American dream of self-made success, over it's 'Why do you have one and I don't, I deserve one too'. When that doesn't work out... well 
The UK dream is getting on X-Factor or winning the lottery. For most that's the only way they can see success.

Yes. The republicans here in the U.S. were even pushing this slogan a few weeks ago that in the U.S. there's "only the rich and the soon to be rich." Total nonsense of course, but I think a lot of less wealthy people actually buy into it. And you guys aren't the only ones dreaming of winning the lottery. Last week they had a drawing for $640 million! I don't play the lottery, but I bought a few tickets last week. (And, no, I didn't win.)
