Is the cowl on the instrument cluster a clip on part of does it require more fiddly removal? The sun has shrunk the leather on mine and it needs removing, stretching and re-sticking. Just wondering if it can he a home repair.

It is a clip on part however I have no idea how to remove it.

The leather on my cowl shrunk by about 5mm on the right handside, Broughton's got their 'Trim repairer' in for a look to see if he could stretch it back and keep it there, he wasn't able to.

Fortunately Broughton's managed to get it replaced under warranty citing that it wasn't a part that could actually wear.

I hope I may get it under warranty too but was checking in case I needed to undertake a DIY jobbie. Mine is also around 5mm on the righthand side. People im Florida and Australia must replace them each year!

This is why we keep cars parked indoors and not left outside in the elements to rot or bake.

That's the beauty of the UK (and Boston!) We have seasons and our cars living outdoors get a smorgasbord of weather which leads to a balanced and healthy life smile

It's the easiest part ever to remove actually -

There are six clips. One on either extreme front side, two in the middle at the front and three along the tail at of the cowl at the back.

Pull either of the extreme right/left front's up to unclip and work your hands round the back to the tail three. Once they are out, the front two just lift up last. There is a retaining strap screwed underneath (on about 6 inches of leather strap) that you need to unscrew as well and then that's you - all off.
