Aw, mate - sorry to see you got wounded in action. Only a flesh wound tho' - man-up and carry on! in fact, best you just put an elastoplast on it for now and fix it up proper after the July run-out wink

Hence the chipex and not a respray. That will wait until after the summer runs out..

Having spent most of the afternnon in the rain cleaning mine I can confirm that I was shielding you from Yeti's attempt at pebbledashing your car - Bonnet, roof, A post, Front panel, Front wings, Boot lip and screen. But hey...what a hoot!!!

I guess with those roads we all have some road rash, but as you say what a hoot smile I just wondered if people recommended the Chipex or some other temporary solution??

I followed Yeti out from the last 'comfort break' stop - BAD MOVE! Within the first 500 yards I got blasted with the contents of a pot hole! I parked my car in the garage last night and haven't dared to inspect the damage yet! The marks in the screen viewed from inside the car have given me the first warning of potential road rash! Chipex seems a good call! Hey ho - it's only car - to be used!

Hi John (or should I say Robbie) great to meet you and Tracey. The secret with Chipex is not to expect miracles and be patient - when I first tried it I repeatedly put the paint on then didn't waiting long enough to use the blending solution resulting in wiping the paint off that I had applied 5 minutes earlier.

I'm not sure why it only seems to have happened to people who followed me?? But I got a blasting from whoever I was following, just seemed to be roads with a lot of loose debris and gravel frown

By the way, if you never clean your car it's like it never gets damaged wink

laugh

I did notice your attempted at cleaning it!
Take a page out of Jockmans book wink
John Chipex will be fine just build it up in thin layers
I had one about 1/2 the size on top of my wing on the way home from collecting it from new frown
Chipex has sorted it.

Here is an after shot

It is a shame we get these but no choice on those roads and those speeds wink
It is THE main reason I spent £800 on a full V12V Venture shield kit on my car.
I inherited it on my first Vantage.
Can't recommend it highly enough.

Ive got venture shield too..... Haven't cleaned the car yet but when I got home yesterday I had a quick check and I think I'm relatively unscathed.

Even if I do have a mark or two I don't care (too much) It really was a great day and I thoroughly enjoyed it!! smile

The deep one needs some building up, but the smaller ones it is very good. The colour match is excellent. Lots to do though, so taking my time!!
