If everyone loves the colour, but most people on here have silver, grey or black, does it mean that people buy a colour they don't like, presumably because of the second hand market being driven by people buying colours they also don't like because they in turn will want to sell the car on at some point to someone also buying a colour they don't like....?

Great colour btw! hehe

Oh I definitely wanted Meteorite if only for less cleaning. Yellow will sparkle but show the dirt fast. Personally I don't go for bright colours but I appreciate those that do to brighten up the roads.

Good point though and I wonder who buys with future re-sale in mind. Having just got the Vantage I cannot think of not having it ever now cloud9

Dealers buy in grey everytime, and advise us against anything else, then sell their stock at a discount, so if you want e.g. yellow, its a special order and less discount.
Asolutely - a grey Aston is like a red Ferrari; it's what the dealers stock up on, it's what everybody expects and therfore is supposedly easy to sell as everyone expects their Aston purchase to be grey.

Odd how we all love that yellow car. A bit like a Giallofly yellow Ferrari, they invariably look fabulous and suggest at someone who doesn't take themselves too seriosly. A good trait for a sports car owner smile

Just catching up with all the latest replies. Thanks again to everyone for the kind welcome and comments.

Colour is an interesting topic, clearly - I did not expect it to provoke such debate! Also I did not expect such an overwhelmingly positive response towards the colour - many thanks for that as I did wonder if I might be one of a very small minority who liked the colour.

I must admit to being warned by more than one dealer, as well as a few enthusiasts, that yellow may not be the best colour from a resale perspective. However, over the years I have had more than my fair share of more mainstream colours, and whilst I really do think that Astons look fantastic in just about any colour, I wanted something a little different this time. As I don't intend to sell for many years, all being well, I took the view that I would buy this car in a colour which I loved and if, when I eventually come to sell, that choice costs me a few quid then so be it!

It is interesting that whilst searching for my car, I just missed another Sunburst Yellow car which the dealer sold before his advert became live and I also missed a Karussel Orange car in a similar way. My car was not for sale very long before I bought it, albeit the dealer had it on an SOR basis which is perhaps quite telling!! However, it does seem that there may be a better market for more unusual colours than certain dealers may have us believe and although I am aware of one or two cars which seem to be sticking, genuinely good cars at fair market prices seem to sell very quickly, perhaps simply because there is so little choice.

Best wishes to all,

Dave

Yellow with black wheelscool fantastic combo.....

But you wait..... Summer time (if it ever comes) that car will attract flys like a yellow car attracts flyshehe

Seriously, 2 of my mates had yellow Griff's, and I had a blue one... We'd park up after a drive out in the summer, come back to the cars, and theirs would be smothered in greenflys.... Mine was completely untouchedsmile..

Car looks brilliant though... Such a refreshing change.. Nice onesmile

About 15 minutes before the dark clouds gathered again. I have had the car for 2 weeks tomorrow and have hardly used it due to flooded roads and torrential rain! Surely must get better soon!

A good mate of mine would love that car. He had a yellow chim and after some years wanted a Tuscan
but couldnt find a yellow one until one day when visiting me we spotted a bright yellow Tuscan on here for sale. He was up at the crack of dawn the next morning and shot up to the dealers on his way home. Had it bought there and then. Same colour combo as yours. He got a good deal on it as he was told it wasnt a popular colour. He loves it and has no intention of selling it, so it doesn't matter.
Enjoy its nice to see something different.
