Thumbs up for PSR at Bishops Stortford. I just got the Vantage back today after its 7th service.

It was certainly excellent service from Paul and the team there; conveniently I was flying out of Stansted on Sunday, and Paul met me there, and picked me up today when I landed

The service was all pretty routine, all AM parts were used and the schedule followed, complete with a thorough report on everything. I did end up having the plugs replaced, so that bumped the price up a bit...oh and another coolant sensor which had gone on the blink again recently....thats the 2nd one in 6 years Ive had, although they are only £30 so not really an issue in the big scheme of things. That game me a very reasonable £640 bill

so I will be going there again, hopefully not until another 12 months have passed smile

almost forgot - who else was down there today? im sure there was someone elses Roadster that I recognise, and a DB9

Can't be worse than Heathrow can it? I despise that airport, do whatever I can to avoid flying via it.

I think Ryan air only have No class if I recall.

Sat next to the biggest woman ever on a RyanAir flight out to Salzburg a few years ago. She spent the entire journey stuffing her face.
Probably couldn't work out why she was the size she was.

Not a nice way to fly.

yeah, I used to fly out of Stansted every few weeks when I lived in Brentwood ...either there or City airport ...anywhere is better than going near Heathrow ...just not worth the hassle for a 1 hour flight

Ryanair isnt soooo bad if you pay a tenner and reserve your seat AND that gives you priority boarding smile

actually, thinking about it, Ryanair reserved seating with extra legroom and priority boarding, is much better value than any other business class services Ive tried on short flights

it would be no good for you though Lewis as they charge you per bag of luggage you want to take with you wink

The DB9 is something to do with Paul (hence its PSR registration) and the Roadster was mine, in for it's fourth service. I saw yours in the service bay, ready for collection. Fortunately, my postcode is the same as PSRs so I never needed a pick-from the airport wink

I'll echo what you said about Paul and PSR, he's a top man and, so it seems, a worthy replacement for Rick, who I used last year, although they did have lots of Lotuses and Porsches in for work.

smile I know Paul from Lotus world, its just that logisitically Rick was always nearer to me for servicing. they are (were) Very similar in a lot of respects, with an enthusiastic owner/lead tech, a few assistants, admin etc. Really proud and enthusiastic of what they do

Im happy to use small companies like these vs a dealer, so long as they use the AM parts, have diagnostics available, follow the schedule etc...they usually go the extra mile on service and "extra bits" compared to many un motivated dealer service techs that do the bare minimum on the sheet to get the job done (likely through no fault of their own, its just the business model is slightly different)

to be fair, I cant say I have ever had actual bad service from an AM dealer, the 2 I used in the first few years were very good and fixed/did everything asked of them ...but there was nothing "extra" done, and things like £100 + vat for "tyre check report" on the bill, when theyve just fitted new tyres and charged you £700 for an oil change service, is a little daft....certainly the best way to ps off repeat customers by slipping in default service items that are not even required...I didnt go back again.

like most people, I dont mind paying for good quality/service (after all, isnt that why we drive luxury cars) but I dont like to feel like the piss is being taken. Just because its a premium car, dosent give the dealer licence to print money ...like the guy with the £9K quote on AMOC the other day

anyway, enough waffle, fair to say PSR will get my business in future smile
