On another note, how goes the new toy? Been on a 1st gear tunnel run under the harbour/domain tunnel?
Ah Lagonda thanksIt's Absolutely awesome John. Been driving it every day, and just pulled fuse 22 this morning. Sounds way better than my V8 M3 with an exhaust did and so far don't regret the move from 911 Turbo one bit.
Yet to go through the tunnel but it's on the cards for sure. Going in for detail And opticoat next month

This will sound like a very silly question but what's the "L" for in AML
If you are interested in the Company history JKay, after David Brown bought Aston Martin, he later purchased the Lagonda company.
I think that subsequent purchase was made, to secure some talented employees, and importantly obtain the rights to an engine designed by Bentley.
Lagonda built cars have usually been luxurious saloons, hence AML have used that name for their Taraf model.

Interesting indeed, I have lots to learn about Aston Martin, only having started ownership less than a week ago. Enjoying every moment so far!

That's great.
You are discovering, after buying an Aston Martin, it comes with that special extra 'thing' (remarkable history, passion by owners and other people etc), which other cars just cannot provide.

It was owned by a guy in Birmingham in the late 80's and he had it on a Lagonda He had mates in the Top Gear production team and it has been featuring on various Aston's in Top Gear ever since.
I think now he has sold it and it has been bought by Aston Martin and car is used by the CEO Doctor Andrew Palmer. It could be on a 'pool' car giving other exec's the chance to use it?

We have usually seen photos and videos showing 1 AML on Aston Martin's latest new model introduction. Sometimes the cars which are loaned to road test journalists have that registration. Looks good when on a motoring magazine cover.

Are you chaps talking (and spotting) AML 1 or 1 AML as in most of the pictures?
This is confusing.
DVLA website shows:
1 AML = Aston Martin.
AML 1 = no trace.
Tyre dealers website (do not need to know vehicle make) shows:
1 AML = no trace.
AML 1 = Aston Martin Vanquish colour gold.
