Considering a new DBS Volante
Discussion
Morning all,
As the title suggests, I have a V12 itch that needs scratching! Although I picked up a new V8VR'S' a few months ago, I can't seem to get the thought of a DBS out of my head, having driven one a few times recently. The V12 engine is quite intoxicating, and if I'm honest, whilst ASM2 is very good, the smoothness of the TT2 gearbox is something i really enjoyed. obviously a few things to consider, such as the impact of a new Vanquish in the foreseeable future (although it seems a Volante version is some 24 months away from us realistically).
Has anyone on here recently purchased from new? any good deals about?
Thanks in a advance.
cheers
James.

Hi Rob,
from initial impressions, i think you are right. List on a new DBS Volante is running around £190k, but it seems around £155k is achievable. happy to hear if anyone has any recent experience of lower levels?
I look forward to hearing how you get on with the new manifolds/back box. if I don't go for the DBS, that may be my next trick!!
cheers.

If we're talking brand new, would you not be looking for one of the 150 Ultimate Edition cars? Limited run and the best interiors Aston have done. Much like the Vanquish Ultimate Edition, might not be too bad a buy in the years to come if it's a keeper...
Mmm, quilted leather...
Wouldn't get much of a discount, and they're only available in certain specs. Yes the interior is lovely but I think I'd have my own specced 'regular' DBS instead. In either Hardly green or Lightning silver I think Mmm, quilted leather...
Good decision to go for this!
Here is the car I got start of this year:
http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...
It is Hammerhead silver with grey roof. Pitures don't do it justice, you have to see it in real life (since I am normally a black car kind of guy, it was a very big step for me).
Lightning silver is great too, like MFW, but then I would go for either black roof or........red roof with red leather, but ok, that you also have to see (on mobile.de a white wit red Volante is for sale IIRC).
And of course you go for the manual! It will not be possible anymore on the AM310, so the DBS and V12V are the last V12 cars with manual gearbox I think!
