Sorry, I may have just had a small microsleep........are you saying HWM are willing to do that sort of deal, or that they will just confirm their thoughts on the appreciation likely on the DBS. IF I could get a Vanquish S for my DBS, it would happen right now.
They're keen to buy but I've no idea what spec you car is, just give them a call?Bincenzo said:
Thanks Kevin. I've just spoken to them, purely about how they see residuals going. Not anywhere near £250k. Not even close, so that figure probably needs to be taken with a degree of NaCl, for those that were getting excited.
I think the figure £250 was meant to mean what they might achieve in future years not now. What did they say when you asked if they would take yours against a new Vanquish S?

Must be worth investing in a manual conversion now
I know these are not true classics just yet, but a manual conversion on a classic car is a major 'no no'. If you really wanted a manual DBS and were intending to keep it you will probably be better off biting the bullet now and paying the difference to "upgrade"trigbush said:
A dealer in the Netherlands just hiked his DBS CBE price up to EUR 195000 from EUR 164000
Or 295,000 Euros for a roofless manualhttps://kroymans.nl/stock/stock-detail/12850743/As...
Mad but as predicted.....

As posted elsewhere before:
"
Let's try to make an estimate: in total about 3385 DBS have been produced over the years 2007-2012 (see http://www.amoc.org/forum/index.php?topic=26176.0)... first and last year probably not so much, and peak in 2010 and 2011. Split Coupe/Volante 50/50? And TT2/manual 90/10 (95/5 for the Volante).
This makes the following estimate:
- 2007: 300 (Coupe, Manual)
- 2008: 500 (C, M)
- 2009: 700 (500 C (300 M, 200 TT), 200 Volante (50 M, 150 TT))
- 2010: 800 (400 C (40 M, 360 TT), 400 V (20 M, 380 TT))
- 2011: 800 (400 C (40 M, 360 TT), 400 V (20 M, 380 TT))
- 2012: 285 (140 C (14 M, 126 TT), 145 V (5 M, 140 TT))
So in total: 3385 DBS, of which 2240 Coupes (1194 Manual, 1046 TT2) and 1145 Volantes (95 Manual, 1050 TT).
"
As we know from later postings, the number of Volantes is about 852, and the number of manual Volantes is much lower than 95, "less than 60" is what I got back from the factory a while ago, and according to other sources it is only 43.
Split LHD / RHD can be interesting addition to this guestimate.
About the Manual DBS Volante (LHD) at Kroymans: the price includes approx Euro 35-40K CO2 tax, so for export you can substract that (See other posting on this).

This was from a very senior director at the factory whose identity I promised to protect for no other reason than he didn't want endless requests for how many Blue blah blah etc.

Even colour changes aren't that frowned upon.
I know many Etype V12's which have been converted to Manuals and the value is hightened. Automatic boxes in most classics are not great.

Not my experience with classic Astons whatsoever. Changing the transmissions is a real no and unfortunately the automatic Borg-Warner transmissions are not brilliant. Colour changes reduce the value generally but are easier to reverse if the buyer is fussedIn fact many Astons are converted back and forth from auto to manual back to auto and so on.
