A poster recently referred to the "unicorn", a manual trasmission Ultimate Edition.
Congrats on getting a DBS, beautiful car.

That car isn't an ultimate edition, they were at the very end of production, not 09.

Thank you!

That was my initial guess, but I thought that the quilted seats were exclusive to the ultimate edition, and that the seller somehow mistyped the MY of his vehicle. Still, $100k USD for a manual gearbox DBS with such low mileage isn't too pleasing to the appetite. eek

At 2009 it can't be an Ultimate but it really looks like one - with some anomalies. Ultimates were MY2012 and had a different alloy wheel design. However, the quilting on the seats look right, the red S on the DBS badge looks right and there was one manual built and that is in the US. Someone did an imitation? Would love to know more.

It's definitely a 2009, as unambiguously indicated by no Bose and CF door caps. Of course, lots of other UE indicators that are missing.

Thanks Chaps. Clearly someone really like the UE and must have spent quite a bit to get theirs looking the same - or had a great deal of foresight when speccing their car in the first place smile

Hi all you DBS experts.

What is the latest update on DBS price direction. Thinking of DBS around £90k in the UK. Are prices still strong and rising or heading backwards?

A few manuals around at strong prices, but what about earlier auto's?

Well mine has been for sale for a while and is coming home to be stored for the winter and re-advertised in spring. I think it's just the time of year. The spread over the cars for sale, given mileage, spec and age looks about right

Prices are dropping, have seen 4-5 main dealer cars go thru BCA recently as they are not shifting. Lower Vanquish prices seem to be hurting these, have even seen a few manuals sell for much lower than expected.

Surprised they are dropping, but as you mention vanquish prices are probably creating downward pressure

Bubble hasn’t burst (yet) but is deflating.

I think time of year has a lot to do with it.

I’ve also observed prices have softened a little since the spring/ early summer which is when the market is busy and people want to secure their new cars for the summer.

I’m sure it will pick up again in Spring.

Definitely there is a bigger spread of prices now - not just auto vs manual, but also very mileage and model year dependant. Not many low mileage MY12 cars (Garmin update etc.) around; low mileage auto ones are still £115k ish and may hold as spring/ summer comes around.

I think there is some softening in the market based what I have seen online and heard in last couple of months:

- One AM dealer sold a 2012 model with c.22k miles for £97k - they said they had reduced it from just over £100k.
- Several cars on Autotrader seeing some reductions - have seen a Lightning Silver 2009 model with c.11k miles reduced to £90k from about £97k by AM dealer.
- Had several conversations with another AM dealer about a sub-30k miles 2009 car who was willing to reduce price to mid £80s from high £80ks

If you select DBS, DBS Volante and Vanquish on here or autotrader the lowest prices are for the DBS while its predecessor the 2002 Vanquish is sat above it, a rule of thumb is to assume the replacement for a supercar will have a higher depreciation floor than the previous model; of course some factors like production numbers or being a bit st might affect matters.

I think it's fair to say the '02 Vanquish and the DBS were not st, so if the 2002 Vanquish bottomed out at 50k then the DBS might bottom out at 55k (numbers are made up), looking at the market is it stands I'd bet the DBS's are near the floor and will start to curve upward.

The old DBS has the Bond sheen of course, but it also has the help of the new model, and if it is as amazing as the rumours suggest it will bring favourable attention and possibly create upward pressure.

Prices do seem more reasonable here in the US. Funnily enough I was just looking at that Canadian car, 3% duty to bring it across the border. The ultimate aim being to bring it back to Europe and register it in France (having a KM speedo). Plenty of good roads down south to properly enjoy it.

Not withstanding the peculiarity of it's spec, it looks like a solid long term buy.

Other options under consideration are:

It seems values might be on the rise in the US after all.

Inquired about a beautiful 2011 Manual DBS in Quatum Silver (SCFEBCAD5BGE02534) yesterday at an AM Dealer in Dallas. I was told that the owner was expecting offers north of $180,000. Now it was an exceptionally clean, 7,000miles and well maintained car but I was surprised to saw how far these prices have risen in a year.

it will be interesting to see what it goes for. I was looking to trade my 12,000 mile 2010 dbs manual earlier in the year and couldn't get a trade offer of more than $110k. As such, I kept it, their offer made me make the right decision.

Well you can't base yourself on someone's price expectations to conclude how much prices have risen in a year.
Better to look at how much cars of a particular model have actually been sold for in the last year.
But I'm with you on the fact DBS prices are on the up.
