What's up with Guiness? A meal and a pint in one.

Cider is very refreshing too, although I prefer Kopparberg or Strongbow to Magners.
I love cider, that's why I don't drink Magners; it's never seen an apple in it's life.

Try Thatchers ( http://www.thatcherscider.co.uk/ ). A few pubs do sell it in bottles and a few on draught. Most of the supermarkets stock it also.

Or, even better ( well, okay, maybe not ), is my own. Coming up to a year old now, 3 pints and you will be well away !

Don't get me started about the time the OH insisted we ate the Eiffel Tower!!!
The Jules Verne? Lovely place, took Mrs Yeti and all her friends there for her 30th... Tasting menu with wine for everyone, plus 5* accommodation for everyone, all paid for by my fair hand. Have never added up the full cost, probably a decent car for the same cash as that jaunt...

I do like Paris but haven't driven the Aston there. My old 911 was a hoot on the cobbles a few years ago though smile

I like real cider but I end up extremely pissed, extremely quickly! There's a place that makes its own cider near me, just a little independent brewery on a farm. Brilliant when the taster days are on but no way could I drink it all the time!

By the way, next time you make cider, try adding a shot of dark rum into about 3 litres of it. Tastes very good indeed, something I discovered from those aforementioned tasting sessions smile

A way to make her 30th special while also making her friends like me. Girls (and it was only girls) can be bought off with chocolate fondant smile

I'm 26, was 24 at the time. Best start working a bit harder for the next 4 years or it'll be a bouncy castle and a BBQ in the back garden.

This was only last year - wow, time flies!! Now with a wedding coming up... Such a thing would seem outrageous!

Yeah, maybe tone it down a bit and have the reception at Fraiche or somewhere equally as downmarket!

Fraiche is a bit small ......I had my wedding lunch there for 20 people (and the chef was unhappy about that number ...ie too many) but then had a big party 2 days later at our home with lots of waiters in black tie serving up posh nosh .......its not the wedding that expensive, its the divorce proceeding the wedding !!!!

I beg to differ. We're at £30k already for the venue and only a pleasant afternoon tea. That's no booze, brealfast, posh frocks, morning suits, cakes, cheeses or anyo of those other essentials. I could have had a very nice E-Type for what this will cost rolleyes

I get to sort out the hog roast and the rock band though, seems the day becomes MINE at about 7pm biggrin

well 30k is a lot of hard earned money .....but as I said in my post ....its the divorce preceeding the wedding (i.e second marriage) which cost me more than 30 times your wedding cost.....my divorce cost me 6 spanking new Vanquish's !!!..... God help you if you have any real money and get divorced !!

£30k?!?!?

I'd rather spend a grand, get married nowhere special and just go to my local pub, then spend £29k on an Ariel Atom or Caterham!

Stowfold Press or Westons for me. I used to drink Strongbow when I was an underage tearaway smile
