I have been told I need a new front tyre for my 07 Vantage. Does anyone know the specific Bridgestone I need (19")?

I don't have the car with me but want to get it ordered.

Many thanks!

Front tyre: Bridgestone Potenza 235/40 ZR19
Rear tyre: Bridgestone Potenza 275/35 ZR19

They should have AM9 on them also

Two different answers, hence my confusion rather than a lack of Google skills!

or

http://www.bridgestonetire.com/catalog

both seem to indicate the following :

Potenza RE050 245/40/ZR19
245 is the later model, is it not?? I should have said RE050 also

Consider the Michelin PSS. Getting very good reviews.

For once that the PH search engine is working, give it a try!

I would advise against putting just one on though wink

Yeah I actually realised what I has posted was different to what you had put. Looking more closely again I realised bridgestonetire.com actually states 235/40/ZR19 for a 2007 V8V front, which is what you had put so I thought it was just easiest to delete my garbage post!

I'm going to need a new nearside rear soon so will buy two for the back and keep the offside rear one with quite a bit of tread left as a spare.

I have new Potenzas on the front so will probably go for them on the back. That said, is it OK to mix with Potenzas on the front and PSS on the rear?

Also, would my dealer fit them or do they not like bringing your own tyres (no oil jokes Nick-no-tene me old lad!). Any good places around London that are recommended?

I should think so, so long as you do the pair. That's exactly my plan in a couple of weeks. Don't take it to the dealer though, find a decent tyre place nearby, there is no point paying huge labour for such a simple job.

I'm not the sort that pushes anything on a car to its limits - least of all the tyres. On that basis, I'm more interested in tyre longevity. Any thoughts on whether the Pirelli, Potenza or another tyre will give me the most mileage?

I'm sure the bottom of the range Chinese stuff will last for ages. Grip and traction are overrated anyway!

Made a recent will Slarti..?

I've been pondering this one between fill ups this week as I will need new tyres when I get back.
I keep thinking about changing brand.
But then I'm quiet happy with the RE050's and AM will have set the suspension and geometry up to match that tyre.
Any other tyre adds in a load of other variables.
I think I will be haggling with the dealer to match my value tyre supplier on the RE050's
That should cover all bases nicely wink

I was getting 25k miles out of my rear Bridgestones and 40k-50k out of the fronts.

I've just put a full set of Michelins on as an experiment. Initial impressions:

- they are quieter.
- they are very good grip wise.
- they're a very progressive tyre...you can feel them working nicely underneath much more so than the Bridgestones.

In the above respects they are very much an improvement on the Bridgestones.

But

- they are more expensive than the Bridgestones.
- I'll be amazed, very amazed, if they last anywhere near as long as the Bridgestones.

As it was eminently possible to go "very quickly" with the Bridgestones on, I'm not convinced the extra performance is necessarily necessary....but if money and (likely) longevity aren't a problem they are a nice improvement for the car. (I know, I know...we'd all be driving Cygnets if we took that argument to the extreme).

I'll report back more fully when I have a better idea of longevity. I also need to try them in the wet/cold (a downpour recently suggests they're are equally fine in the wet...but it wasn't a long enough drive to be conclusive).

Are they the same size exactly as the RE050's?
Are you running them at the same pressures as the RE050's?

I have just put the Michelin pilot super sports on Jessica same size as the standard Bridgestone.
I agree they are quieter and on pushing have a lot more grip but I am sure that will be countered but longevity.
But if you enjoy a spirited drive and want to get the best out of your pride and joy then opt for the Michelin,
As for the fact we are coming into the "wet" season maybe the Bridgestone option might be better.

I asked my Dealer at the last changeover what this denotation referred to and was it important?

Couldn't tell me so I'm still a bit confused

Not sure where this longevity issue is coming from. On my 2 ton Audi my PS2 lasted 30000 miles and I always change them at 3mm. Granted the PSS is not exactly the same tyre, but it's pretty close.

/EDIT: I meant 30000km (20000 miles).

I'm frugal Yeti, but not the extent where it requires a review of my final will and testament!

Didn't some whippersnapper here put Vredestein Ultrac Vorti tyres on? Was there ever any feedback? Vredestein use an Aston in their promo video for the tyre.
