Apologies I know its a car forum but can anyone recommend a really nice hotel to take my mother for a few days to celebrate her 80th next year. Needs to have a nice safe car park too !!

The Manor House in Moreton in the Marsh has lovely rooms, great food and a barrier controlled car park.

You could try the Shaven Crown at Shipton under Wychwood. Near to Burford, Bourton on the Water and the Cotswold Wildlife Park. The car park is securely tucked round the back of the hotel. http://www.theshavencrown.co.uk

Buckland Manor - Buckland

Lygon Arms - Broadway

Dormy House - Broadway. (Dont be misled by the fact is has only 3 stars) it is very good

I have been to and stayed at all 3, all are good

all of the above, but the Lygon is your best bet as you are in the middle of town, plenty of nice quaint (expensive) shops to walk around

These two are certainly great choices.

Of the three the Lygon is the none I like the least, but as you say there is more in its immediate vicinity.

Russell's is very good and also in the centre of the Village (Broadway is officially a village, but its more the size of a small town)

food is outstanding at the Kings, but there really is not that much to see/do in Campden, Broadway has more to offer during the daytime and a little more leisurely

Moreton-in-Marsh, - it's quite quaint & Cotswoldy and book in at:

http://www.cotswold-inns-hotels.co.uk/property/the...

where Lisa (GT junior) and Simon (her fiancé & the hotel manager) will look after you and enthuse about Aston Martins

Quoted from a recent (sort of) similar post smile

Bit further East, but Le Manoir is top notch.

This year's BTaP hotel, Tortworth Court, is in Gloucestershire, looks pretty decent:

If you want more activity with Cotswold villages a short drive away, you could look in Cheltenham

Hotel du vin - nice but tricky parking
Montpellier Chapter - newly refurbed
Hotel on the Park - mixed reviews, nice spot though
