I frankly don't enjoy doing long motorway trips in it. My Freelander is softer, more comfortable and has more gadgets to support that comfort.

3 Door (apparently it's just wrong to have a 5 door) in red with tinted rear windows and sensor pack

I agree, the 5 door looks crap. Red is a good colour for it, hides the GTI bit of the grille so you can surprise people who think you're just in a Polo biggrin

I swapped my old 1.6 Golf for a GTi with lovely DSG box. I only had it a couple of days before leaving for some sunshine.

Is it wrong to be looking forward to exploring the Golf on my return more than playing in the V8V?

That gearbox is a masterpiece.

Nope. You've had the Vantage for ages, You've had the Golf for 2 days.

It's which one you get bored of first that will tell you everything.

OK - leave it to me to risk offending him then:

'I always have to keep an eye on my dipstick to make sure he hasn't drunk too much' -isn't that right Rob hehe

But I love him anyway and now I shall have to leave the forum to go and offer him counselling whistle

Too late Molly - he will be getting consoled by Chris as we speak - that's what paws are for I'm afraid smile

Btw, your new Golf isn't, by chance, one of those new type of small car thingys with the rear indicators inside of the circular rear break lights ??

Twice now I've nearly hit the back of such cars as I've no idea the indicator is on until the break lights are released confused

Can't say I've looked closely at the rear of the car under braking Jockers, however, I am pretty certain that it's not a golf. No, it's definitely a Polo GTi 180 bhp, supercharged & turbocharged & with a 7 speed DSG smile
