I did wonder if it was my old car!!
Glad you are enjoying it. Be careful though....the car was good enough to get me hooked an Astons....its been an expensive path ever since!!
Thanks. I will certainly hede to your warning. Glad you are enjoying it. Be careful though....the car was good enough to get me hooked an Astons....its been an expensive path ever since!!
My cars usually become 'keepers', which does reduce the expense, but I do have to put up with comments about, 'too many cars'.
You mentioned 'hooked', and in a pevious topic, I think you referred to 'my three previous Astons'. Is your present V8VR really your 4th in two years? May I ask which models were numbers 2 & 3?
I was very grateful that you only kept mine for a few months, because I missed it when on sale early in 2011.
Lovely car, was one of the colours on my short list when I was looking for mine.
I know what you mean about clear lights on lighter colours, but they have grown on me and if my Lightning Silver hadn’t have come with them, I’d probably be looking at changing them.

Hi Jon,
I've not quite gone through that many.....but not far off! I guess my profile may be out of date if its still saying V8VR S.
Story so far -
Started with the V8 Coupe that is currently in your hands.
Next was a new V8VR "S" - Loved the car, very enjoyable to drive on long journeys. ASM2 was a big step from ASM1 that i tried on several test drives.
Switched to a new Virage Volante earlier this year. I was aware of the pending demise of the line, and the new DB9, but this didn't bother me, and I got a good deal based on this info. The car that I chose had my perfect colour combo (black exterior with biscuit tan interior -I forget the real name of the colour). I also had the multiple greys in the centre console changed to all Piano black as part of the deal, (switched with showroom DBS parts) which made a huge improvement to the interior.
There were a few factors that drove me to the Virage, when in reality i was very happy in the S. Firstly, I'd driven a few V12's, which after w while makes the V8 feel a bit flat. secondly, I was looking at DBS's, but the Virage simply looked better (more natural styling over the DBS's bolt on body-kit look), drove better (10 stage adaptive suspension), and had similar torque levels.
I think the Virage is a keeper. Ultimately, there are not many of them at all on our roads, and I can't really think of anything else i want to drive at the moment. and of course, there is also the BR path to follow when (not if) I'm in need of some more power and noise!!
Enjoy the V8, I hope you have as much fun in it as I did!
Cheers
James.

Hi James,
Wow! You are certainly an enthusiast, and a very good Aston Martin customer.
I don't think I will be tempted by the upper models, partly because the size of the Vantage is perfect for me. From the driver's seat, the car feels quite big (the bonnet probably), but when in my garage, it is just the right size for me to easily walk around the car.
If you want to, I am sure the forum members would like to see a photograph of your Virage. As you say, quite a rare model.
Cheers,
Jon.

It's a Ferrari colour, so not cheap to spec on an Aston when new, I agree it's a great colour changes from silver to dark grey according to the light - I had on a previous Roadster - great car Jon hope you are enjoying it
Grant - Thank you for mentioning your Grigio Titanio V8VR.I am compiling a register of UK Grigio Titanio Vantages, model year 2009 onwards (about 30 cars in total).
So far I know of four Roadsters. Perhaps yours is one of those four, but I am keen to find more.
The Roadsters that I already know, have the following First Registration dates;
30 SEP 2008 - (ex Lady Topaz)
24 JUL 2009
31 MAR 2010
14 MAY 2010
Please post some details, if your previous Roadster is a new discovery for me.
