First post here guys so be gentle with me.

Taking delivery this week of a 2008 MY V8 vantage roadster this week from Bentley Glasgow.
So will probably have lost of basic questions, heres the first ones for starters.

Looking to buy a battery conditioner, but 2 types seem to be available, cigarette lighter style connector or 3pin connector type. Which type is correct for a 2008 MY Roadster.
During the test drive the seat height was very low, but could only see electric adjustment back / forward and angle of rear .
How do you raise the seat height?
Will study the owners manual when I get it this week, but until then will ask you guys

Thanks
Alan

Hi and welcome, exciting time for you smile
Does your car have a cigarette style power socket in the boot ( my model year 2010 does) if so then that's what you want, and everybody recommends the ctek make available from amazon of course.

My seats go up and down via the same set of buttons - the forward back button also makes it go up and down if you press it like that ?

I know the seat goes through a bit of a dance to get to where you want it. Does it have memory?

Don't expect them to be gentle, this place is awash with sarcasm, double entendres and even irony from time to time so you need to be a brave fellow to survive ( especially the souther softies on here! smile )

You'll love the car, remember pics are compulsory - best wishes.

Welcome....... Get the dealer to throw one in as part of the deal. Just plugs straight into the socket in the boot........if its the same arrangement as the coupe that is??

Post some pics when you can, if not sooner.

Thanks,
I did not notice which style of socket was in the boot, but I would assume it is the cigarette style.
I was at the Bentley dealer for a while las Saturday, but it was all a bit of a blur since I was buying an Aston for the first time.
However my attention soon focused when we where agreeing on the deal.
The Bentley dealer agreed to get the car serviced by the Aston dealer in Edinburgh , they are refurbishing the front near side alloy which was a little bit scuffed and the drivers door at the handle has a bubble so they where intending to speak to Aston, but he thought they would get their own coach works to fix it.
Taxed and a years Bentley warranty.

No memory seats but

Titanium Silver
Chancellor red hide
Grenadine red hood
Sport shift
HID headlamps
Power fold mirrors
Wind deflector
Red calipers
Auto rear dimming mirror
No Sat Nav but I have never had it in a car and don't really need it

They had it for sale for a while and eventually knocked £4K off their advertised price.

Congrats and welcome to the Titanium Roadster club :-)

Looking forward to the pics. Bought mine 2nd hand, so had to put up with the Obsidian (aka 'suicide') Black interior and contrast stitch. Would like to think if I had spec'd it myself, I would have been brave and gone for the red leather and red hood. Silver and red is a classic combo and reminds me of 60's Mercs and Porkers.

Mine has the cigarette lighter in the boot for the conditioner, but not sure if this was a MY09 addition or not. Pretty sure my 07 coupe didn't. Saying that, I haven't had a conditioner for either and car has been left for up to three weeks before with no probs.

As a I write this, its sitting in the Gatwick long stay car park though, so could be proved spectacularly wrong by tomorrow night!

Enjoy the new toy. You're a lucky bugger for having such amazing roads in your back yard (assuming you're based north of the border), and i hear the SportShift comes into its own with fast road driving, as opposed to navigating our London traffic jams...

I know that when dealers or customers spec cars up, they obviously have their own ideas of how they want it to look...
But I've never understood, why they'd choose the whole interior in one colour when they have the chance of some contrast to break it up....

I love this red interior, but a simple thing like black door inserts would look superb...cool

Agree completely - at the very simplest level, you can differ the color of the top roll and bottom roll. That car with a black instrument binnacle, black dashtop and back door cappings would look better. I suppose the door car might be extra, but worth it.

I look forward to changing my interior slightly in the future, get a bit more green in with the Moonstone scratchchin

Och aye tha' noo, Alan !!!!

I tend to have my seat fully forward and at its highest point. I then have three cushions and a bean bag to ensure perfect visibility just above the steering wheel. When my door opens a special set of Aston steps folds down, allowing me to get out safely.

Good work smile I bid on a 2008 Roadster last December they had and they wouldn't budge. The spec sounds fantastic.

I bought mine three months ago - it's the exact twin of yours in all respects (except with satnav, but singularly unimpressive).

The owner's book is different to any I've ever seen - most of the info is there, just a question of finding it!

Sportshift used with the paddles is good - in auto it's awful, but nobody seems to use that anyway.

You'll have lots of fun and become best friends with your local petrol station owner.

You didn't say whereabouts in Scotland you are, but you won't be far from some great roads wherever (I'm from Glasgow but lived in Yorkshire for many years and good roads here too!). Looks, noise & handling are unbeatable - enjoy !!!!!!

I looked at some of your other posts, did you get the issues with water ingress and parking sensors fixed?
My car is being serviced by Aston at the Bentley dealers expense and will come with a 1 year Bentley approved warranty.
I guess with each car being hand built each owner will have their own personal experiences both good anb bad, I had already bought the book by Grant Neal and thoroughly studied it on holiday! So I was not surprised to see the standard issues on my car as previously mentioned.
What is your verdict on the car after 3 months?

I have the sportshift and it's very similiar to this https://used.astonmartin.com/en-GB/Search/Details~...

And it's true the gearbox is great once you have mastered it, this morning i went for a blast with the SCD club across the peak district at 7am!! and at +1c the roads were driveble and i really enjoy using the car with that gearbox on those types of roads.
However im not a fan of town driving it doesn't work that well for me you would need a DB9 for that biggrin

Enjoy the car and im glad you picked a different colour scheme to the rest clap

Good time to grab a bargain!

IIRC all roadsters have the cigarette lightre socket in the right hand side of the boot.

On the seat move the base shape in the centre tunnel up from the middle, doing it from either end just tips it.
Seat might need a reset move it fully up and fully forward
Worst case it maybe a knackered loom as I had on mine frown

Also check the roof drains in front of the boot are clear and have a look at the roof supports in hte middle off the roof for rubbing on the roof.
