Anyone know how to remove the side mirror glass from the housing? THe shop manual does not provide any detail on doing this.

Thanks

I do and I don't !
By which I mean I have done it, albeit with brute force. Once its out you will find a plastic clip arrangement which attaches to a plate on top of the motor. When removed, I still couldn't work out how you can remove it without force since there doesn't appear to be enough clearance to get a suitable tool inserted in order to unclip it.
Thats not to say there isn't a 'hidden trick', just that I couldn't figure it out.
If you do decide to go down the brute force route just be careful !

An additional note to my last post...
The other way to do it is to remove the mirror cover itself. Having done so, unclipping the glass is easy.
BUT getting the cover off is 'a pig'. It's just clipped on but you need to push downwards HARD along the top edge.

Only done it a couple of times, but had no trouble using a wall plaster spreader thingy, gets in between the glass and housing, and because its nice and wide doesn't put too much pressure on one part of the glass.
