Last minute advice on DBS/DB9
Discussion
Evening All
As mad as this sounds I'm taking delivery of either a db9 volante or dbs volante tomorrow.
I've driven both and still can't make my mind up.
The DBS is faster harder and louder but the db9 is sleeker and ticks most boxes (in my opinion of course). I just can't help feeling that the DBS is that different from the db9 for the price.
Both are two year old cars.
Does anyone have any views that put one massively above the other.
Any advice greatly appreciated.
Cheers

Both cars were in the showroom and I've put a deposit down. just need to make my mind up now.
I was leaning towards getting the DB9 then chop it in after a year against a DBS if I like it.
On the other hand should I just jump in and get the DBS now.
I've had Porsche's up until now so don't really know much about either of these models.
They're not as practical as the Porsche but you're only here once and a change is as good as a rest!

The DB9 looks great of course, but especially with the Volante version, I like the DBS more (also with the roof up, it looks more balanced and sporty). Maybe strange, but it also depends on the color which one looks best imho.
Besides looks, the DBS of course has better specs (not only engine, gas response and adaptive suspension but also because of ceramic brakes, etc.)
And......what transmission do they have? (I definitely would go for the manual if possible!).

DBS is Carbon Black with black interior/hood. DB9 is Storm Black (black with metallic red flecks and looks better than it sounds) with black interior/hood. Both have B&O sound system.
I incorrectly stated that I was taking delivery today I just need to let them know today.
With my limited experience of driving a DBS I thought the performance was too similar to the DB9 to really get too excited about - the torque throws you along the road at a ridiculous pace in both, the looks for me went marginally in favour of the DB9 too.
What I did like was the handling in the DBS which I guess was down to lighter unsprung weights and slightly wider tyres, seemed to make it more chuckable when hooning but still sufficiently good when pootling at more sensible speeds.
If the cash difference doesn't make your mind up for you I'd suggest it has to be the DBS!

This looks like the Boxster vs 911 debate.DBS - £111k
DB9 - £78k
Both are great cars (I've had both) but if you really want a 911 you will be a little dissatisfied with only a Boxster as a 911 drives by.

the worst thing is that it was posted in an Aston Martin Forum.
