We dont believe a word of it Russell. You did it because you knew you would get more knickers thrown at you in a Vanquish!

The quicksilver is supposed to give you more 20 HP but it isnt just that it is 17kg lighter.
i can attest to that, as it took two of us to hold the original which weighed nearly 40kg!! while a third undid the bolts to get it out.
the replacement quicksilver i lifted out the box and held it up on my own.
those are the boring performance statistics.
the real change is in the sublime noise it makes.
anyone that know grange in welwyn, James said they were all stood outside in the car park and they heard every single gear change from the time i left and headed to the tesco roundabout, round that then out to the A1M sliproad northbound right up to the hill at the welwyn village turn off. it truly is a beast.
the moment i followed V8LM in his one with a quicksilver to the aston concourse i knew my beloved 6.3 wide body virage volante cosmetic (yes they actually called it that) was up for sale by the second roundabout we got to.
i used to love that car. but i luuurrrve this one.

i waited and got one of the faster black ones though

Lolz

Light it may be, but as for power... it's way too far back in the AM exhaust system to have any meaningful effect... maybe 2-3bhp? Replacing the catalysts would be much more effective. The noise though cloud9

That car needs decent manifolds... BR have said they will do them if there's eugh interest..?

Don't get the knickers when you have a DB9. Just bloomers frown

totally agree sir, hence my comment "supposed to" give 20hp. like you i am dubious in that respect. personally i think there is more benefit from losing nearly 20kg in weight if you were checking a quarter mile time.
you are right again though, it is the noise that just makes it a touch above. doesnt suit all cars but oh boy it is like strawberries with cream with that one.

the cost was about £1600 plus VAT i think and a mate of mine's son had a garage and i dropped him a handsome drink and it was job done. it did take a few of us though to get the old one out.
there were some real annoying bits though as they give two clamps in the kit and not the four you need. I mailed Quicksilver later and the guy did no more than go and check if they had made a mistake. he came back and said they had... but not what i thought, the kit said two. he apologised profusely and said they would immediately pull the stock and ensure all had four and thanked me for the email. have to say i was impressed. most just bull their way through something like that.

so.......if you are thinking of buying the original vanquish, don't hesitate, get one while you still can.
