Expecting a load of abuse on this one, but for a bit of fun want to see how many miles i get to a full tank of petrol.

Normally there is a button in the dash display which you press which zeros the display to '0' miles,am i being a numpty, how do i reset it in my Vantage?

thanks

Your have 2 trip meters, T1 and T2.

There is a button on the centre console with T1 and T2 on it, press and hold for a 2-3seconds to clear either the T1 or T2 trip meter.

No abuse either wink

As for worrying about how many miles on a tank, now that is open to some abuse laugh

Thanks guys, much appreciated - will now try and play a silly game for myself to see how many miles i get to a tank! Have never checked in the 3000 miles i have driven in the car, but seem to be going to the petrol station a hell of a lot, trip computer says 13 mpg, so it is more out of interest than trying to drive economically.

think its about 160 miles i am getting to a tank ?

Cant stop pressing the loud pedal, think that's where the economy is going a bit pear shaped,Nearly came unstuck today though as i found the tyres don't have nearly as much traction in these wet conditions as i thought !!

When people talk to me about Aston Martin ownership, without fail the question is always asked, "Does it use much petrol?"

I just use Jay Leno's reply, "You sound like my wife".

On the subject of resetting the odometer... How do you reset the average speed and the average mpg?
I can reset the odometer by holding the button down, but the other bits of info remain the same?

Thanks

So will you just run it until the car stops and then get recovered on a flat bed?

Otherwise you're relying on a gauge which might tell you you're empty (or have 10 miles to go) with 2 gallons left in it confused

13mpg is about right and the hole in the tank is called the load pedal (your words). I drive my car everyday and nose to tail traffic gives something like 8mpg, I am AVERAGING 13 mpg, on a run you might get around 20mpg.

But the problem is the exhaust sound. I just cannot resist it. I wind the windows down for the smallest of tunnels and as for, "underground car parks", even my wife laughs when I wind the windows down and hit the pedal.

The scream turns into a howel and I just laugh ........

Have I had the car a day, a week, a month, NOOOOOO, ages now and still I do it everyday. EVERYDAY!!!!!!!!!

So 13mpg for that sort of fun. A payment I'm willing to pull out my wallet for.

Maybe I get 20 because almost all my driving is motorway or country roads, with hardly any nose-to-tail town driving.

I must say I'm surprised at 20, my Noble ( 3l, V6 twin-turbo ) managed 18 for the same type of driving.

I suggest in order to lower your overall Petrol consumption, you should remove the silencer on your exhaust.

With the noise it will produce you should easily reduce your MPG. But the reduced MPG is in direct reverse proportion to the smile on your face.

Just keep the button held in for longer, and it will reset the whole lot. Might be > 10 seconds, perhaps longer. Or you can switch to ave speed then reset that, switch to ave mpg and reset that etc.
