Hi All,

Been lurking around for the last 6 months or so whilst considering a V8V, drifted off tack slightly and started
Looking at Mercedes CL's, now this car has caught my eye, fancy a low miles one owner car and this seems to fit the bill, what Do you knowledgable people think.

Cheers in advance

Its got a marmite interior, you'll either love it or hate it.
Advert doesn't say if its got Premium stereo, memory / heated seats, rear parking sensors or heated front screem. May have all of them, but not listed in the advert, and I couldn't see from the pictures.
Looks a good price for a one owner car.

To be honest the interior is my big issue, that colour is not one I would choose given a choice but it does look a good price.

I will check on the spec tomorrow, are all the items you mention options ? Also no mention of sat nav !

Would the lack of all the above reduce the price significantly ?

BUY IT, BUY IT, BUY IT clap. Its georgeous. Onxy with Piano, it's also the darkest Iron Ore I've seen, perhaps thats just the photo. Manual, I'd go for Auto, but hey! that's me smile Seems a good price for the mileage as well, but I have not checked out vantages on Autotrader for a while.

Its just me, I apologise in advance, but when a car is Black with a black (or dark) interior, I feel you just can't go wrong.

The car is GEORGEOUS, once you're past that point, the rest is just sorting out the technical apect of the purchase, value and condition etc tongue out

Look at the other threats for info on this, the SatNav is nice to have, but this car is a 2006, I think it will have the 1922 Volvo system in it (like mine) hurl

Whilst its nice to say you have satnav, best get TomTom on your phone buy some Blutac and stick your phone on the dash.

I went from a CL to a Vanquish and didnt miss any of the electronic gadgets at all. A completely different animal, just like the old day's of really being involved with the car. A great driving experience.

Well I do miss the parking sensors!

Wait for a while then, there are plenty of other examples on the market.

Buy in haste, repent at leisure hehe

Yep all options. Don't seem to make a huge difference on price, just makes a car easier to sell if its fully spec'ed up. Looks like it does have SatNav as in one photo i can see the cut outs for where the SatNav rises out of the dash.
Not particulary good photos, seem to focus on the Ast Martin logo rather than proper views of the car.

It's a great price for >that< car but if that isn't the one you want, don't buy it! At that age, iron ore was avery common colour but it looks more like bitter chocolate to me..? Lousy pictures!

I can't see satnav on it, first time ever. Everyone hates it but it's perfectly functional and I think personally it makes it much harder to sell the car on.

No steering wheel buttons so no phone prep or cruise... with no satnav, probably a safe assumption it's a very low spec car. But how much do you care about silly toys? A Vantage is for driving, not pressing buttons. Hoewever, if that isn't your ideal colour spec, then avoid. Plenty of suicide black interiors about, in fact almost all of them.

This car will appeal to someone who doesn't care about the toys... at that price it's begging to be bought and BR'd for some proper power to become a real driving machine. Probably a good few kgs saved without all the spec to start things off...

It doesn't appear to have sat nav, there is no cut out where it should be. There also appears to be some damage to the leather to the right of the steering wheel, just around and below the air vent!

Go and see the car. Pictures can be deceptive. I overlooked my car from the pictures, but when I did see it, I liked it.

Mercedes CL's have no style or soul. They should bring back a modern version of the old SEC.

Why are V8V's so cheap, even with low miles?

Time of year and plenty of them about plus uncertainty about the ongoing financial crisis. They seem to be holding their value quite well I think, haven't moved meaningfully in a long while.

It's also a low spec car (the lowest spec I have ever seen) that isn't in LOOK AT ME I'M JAMES BOND grey with black leather which is what everyone wants.

Thirty one thousand pounds is hardly 'cheap' either smile

You seeing something I can't Neil ??? Agree on the logo bit.

Perfectly good car with average mileage and a decent interior. One for the shortlist maybe (post test drive) smile

Five years ago I was looking at Black/black and only went to see my tungsten/iron ore to rule it out.I`m so pleased I took the iron ore,it has always been well recieved.
If I am honest the photos look more burnt chocolate ,go and have a look the price and mileage look reasonable

Me too, I think a splash of colour would have been good. I wouldn't dismiss it until you had a chance to sit in the car get a feeling for it. Enjoy the test drive.
