Out with the old...........and in with a DBS

Blimey not a great start less than a mile from the dealership i press my foot down in 2nd gear in a straight line and the car goes sideways shook us both up.
Took my time for the rest of the journey and it's now in the garage and it fits too
I will have to be more carefull in damp conditions and treat it as a V12 not a V8!

You best take it back paul as this kind of power is only for experienced drivers

I have spent hours following this saga with great joy and expectation only to be told that you nearly crash it and then .......
stick it in the garage.

Sorry guys we've had family round and were still packing for our holiday tommorow (WIFE'S 50TH) it's just the way it's fallen.
I did take it out breifly after they had all gone to Sainsburys actually
Anyway after my brief scare with the power the steering is much lighter than the vantage and ive got to grips with the gearbox quickly and i don't find the clutch heavy.
The burble is fantastic and when you blip it it roars!
The dash is much better of this 08 model BT works with the phone and the volume works correctly with the steering wheel button
Lighting in the cabin is improved and ive not listened to the hi-fi yet.
To feel the full power im going to have to wait till spring if it can bite that easy

Had a 60 mile hoon this morning with a few Astons
This drives easy once you give the power some respect
Gear changes very smooth ive gelled with it quickly,
Is the steering wheel smaller it seems to be?
Had a play with the hifi the ipod works well much easier to select what you want.
The seats grip you well with the alcantara it has a anti slip touch.
I might be wrong but the car seem to grip better after the tyres warmed up despite the road being wet.
Only managed 16 mpg and the car is now filthy.
As for the garage i moved my mirrors in when driving in and now i have the same room down the side of the car as i did with the Vantage.

Seriously? You'd rather someone went out, looked at their car and estimated rather than taking the official and EXACTLY correct measurements?
Takes all sorts I suppose
I didn't ask for an estimation, I asked for a value. Interested to know how accurate the true length is compared to the datasheets. If its as accurate as 0-60 values then I'm not holding out any hope Takes all sorts I suppose

Why wouldn't Aston's figures be accurate?
Maybe some additional context I've measured up my garage and its about a foot too short for a DBS. Was hoping someone could confirm the sizing is exactly as stated. Ok, that might sound like a stupid question, but it has happened on previous occasions where the sizes don't match up to the official stated figures.
Anyway. Not to worry I'll have to buy one and plead ignorant to the wife

...it looks worse than it looks...
No, it looks exactly as bad as it looks. How can you even think about parking a DBS in a garage sized for a Cygnet? God almighty, you guys in 'ol blighty' have it pretty tough with respect to garages. My Xmas wish for you is a bigger garage...
Congratulations on the new black beast... Awesome you won't need to use the new wipers as you will likely be looking through the side window by the sound of things ..... You must have b*lls of steel to manoeuvre a DBS into that garage......I would cover the walls in carpet for the odd occasion you are a few mm out!
