Personalised Number Plates?
Discussion
I reckon this is probably the most divisive issue between Aston Martin owners! I'm in the "who cares what people think" camp. If you like it then go for it.
I had a 007 plate on my Vantage for years and it usually raised a smile from people, and that was one of the things I most liked about the car. People would smile at how beautiful the car was and then have a further little grin at the plate. I'm sure that a few of them were laughing at me for having the plate but who cares?
I took it off before selling the car in case I wanted to reuse it (or on the off chance I could sell it). The strange thing is that seeing the car with a different plate made me realise that I had made the right decision by getting it in the first place (the right decision for me at least). The car just didn't look right with a normal plate, not just to me but to my friends as well. It sounds stupid but somehow the car lost something without it. The upside was that made it slightly less painful to sell as it felt less like my car. Maybe I would have felt the same going from one normal plate to another but I doubt it.

007 plates are cringeworthy imo. AML look ok but wouldn't be my choice. I quite like the V8 xxx or V12 xxx plates though.
This is bad I'm agreeing with George again
I personally dislike any Bond style plate and don't really like the AML/Bond thing either, AML is OK ish.
I'm quiet happy with a plate that is personal to you (like ours )
Each to their own though.

I wanted V8 VTG but that was unsurprisingly unavailable, so I went for V007 VTG instead, which was a standard DVLA plate at the time (March '07). Cringeworthy to some I know, but I liked it!Ian67 said:

Like that Ian67,,,but then I kinda like most 'persies', its fun working out the possibilities of plate letters re occupants names, its just another way of adding enjoyment to the driving experience. Astondb9man said:

I prefer "AMV" plates being as probably over half of the Aston Fleet begin with a "V"!
Sadly my Vantage Roadster currently up for sale and so will be selling my 0003 AMV once the cars sold. I'll almost certainly be back though so might keep the plate - works for a Vanquish too!
We have never been big fans of private plates but Rob was so excited about his first Aston (we are now onto the second one) that I managed to buy him an 'AMV' one as a surprise Christmas present that appeared when he turned up to see his car for the first time: V888AMV. That is now on the V8SSadly my Vantage Roadster currently up for sale and so will be selling my 0003 AMV once the cars sold. I've just taken delivery of my first new car and couldn't resist a plate that describes the car and gives a hint of my forum name too. Having trouble uploading the photo but my profile tells you what the car is and the reg number is GT13MOL
