Bincenzo - QFIs & QHIs have such a way with words!

For everyone other than Bins, WAFU is used to describe gentlemen serving in the Fleet Air Arm, and stands for:

Women All Fancy Us

or

We Are fking Unbelievable

Or a number of other, less believable things...

Probably not a good idea encouraging this lot to play with acronyms hehe

IIRC it means "Weapons and Fuel Users" I guess it often gets changed to "What A fk Up" wink

After spending 3 years on the old Ark Royal (With steam catapults) if they couldn't generate enough steam to launch the aircraft (Phantoms, Buccaneers and Gannets) the catapults were referred to as WAFU. (Wet and F*****g Useless). During my remaining 32 years in the RN with 6 years on Invincible and 2 years on Illustrious the Fleet Air Arm were still referred to as WAFUs.

I'm feeling slightly embarrassed by mine now, being comparatively mundane. Its taken from the the first half of the registration plate destined for Vesuvius (Y100 AML). So sort of the reverse origin of many registraion plates, that bare the owners initials/name.

yes

MollyGT changed to MollyGTi so I took her old name and promptly expressed my affection for Jockman.

Then 897sma Steve pinched a stupid name like Johng39 so I quickly went in and pinched his name so he couldn't get back to it, and again posted up his admiration for Jockers.

George 'the Knob' H tried to take my name but he was too slow and so tried to revert to his old name but was blocked because they no longer allow spaces in between names smile

Nope, it's a Sealine S43 kept on the Hamble, not quite a super yacht, but chugs along nicely with its 1000hp laugh
