Happy to say Pearl is home safe and soon to go out again - time to celebrate!!

She is looking gorgeous and following her home was great.

If anyone can remind me how to reduce the megapixies of my photos so I can upload more then I will get some on later smile

Yep Pearl is home , Stratus is certainly a striking colour . I am so very pleased. There are a heap of improvements over Purdey (4 wheels for a start) Instrumentation has changed. The Garmin Sat Nav is a vast step in the right direction . It would seem that the gearbox changes are much improved in D Mode. The seat padding is more pronounced and softer. I love the carbon fibre waterfall, the sun does not reflect off it.

Got to go Molly is insisting I take her out! More Bloody expense!!

Bob, if you are looking at BR mods, a main stream like Admiral may not be interested anymore. I would look at Hiscox or Locktons seriously... Classic Line also I understand. They are not interested in charging extra for mods smile
Cockers, old chap, as you know, there have been a couple of BR extras on my motor. Admiral charged an additional £89 for them after asking a number of questions pointing at whether I wanted track cover, which I did not.

I also used to have a Brabus E320 estate, which some fool(me), pulled out early on a roundabout, thus meeting Mondeo man. It caused about £850 to my car and I assume about 30 bob to his. They asked me to take it to an MB approved shop, who didn't fix it properly (external wind noise) and were fine when I asked to have it mended properly.

I am happy with Admiral but don't cause an accident with booze on board; they will be after you for the cost of the claim.

I also have houses and contents with Hiscox and have personal contacts there. A great company.

Woolders me old mukka, where did I mention anything about their claims process?

I only mentioned that Locktons do not charge extra for mods and that a mainstream insurer may not be interested. You have confirmed my point that Admiral do charge extra, but that they have covered you, which is great . I too was with Admiral quite happily until the renewal premium went up considerably and they were also uninterested in my mods. I can only comment on my personal experience which matched Mikey's. I never had to claim, hence I made no comment.

Just got home, nice evening , Molly has had some wine! Anyway Pearl is without doubt a somewhat different car. The build quality has improved without doubt. The glass switches give the dash a classier look . The sat nav is much clearer to see, I like the reversing camera , when you use hill assist a red letter H appears on the dash which is reassuring. The engine feels smoother almost better balanced. Auto lights and wipers at last. We much prefer the coarse stitching on the leather it shows up so much more. I never really liked the Alcantara steering wheel, it went to look worn, I now have a splendid leather one with the better stitching .
Really very very pleased

Just so delighted that it isn't living in Purdey's shadow.Just think what it will become when you start improving it!

Cockers, if I can get away with just an 89 squibs increase for a very similar increase in bhp, I'll be a happy bunny. We'll see in August when BR have worked their magic, what Admiral have to say. wink

Waiting for the DVLA to do the transfer. Fingers crossed tho' as transfer is not guaranteed.

Actually we nearly lost our plate as we were about to send the V5 off to Hiscox when Rachel at H R owen told us that had we done so the number, V888 AMV would have been scrapped with the car!

Rob, im glad to see you back in an aston again so soon, shame about the way it all turned out though.

In the spirit of forum loveliness and the fact you guys are really nice, next time Pearl goes into BR, i will pop over and apply one of my glass coat sealants to help her looking good for longer. Whilst it will protect the car against the elements, sadly it wont do anything against big vans.
