So what have you done with your Aston today?

Slightly off topic: was that a Ronin or Movi you were using? How do you get on operating it single-handed?
>camera geekery warning<Ronin - still getting to grips with it hence keen to practice. You can 'feel' some footsteps and framing is a bit off in places as I didn't have a remote viewfinder. Still its a very clever device. On a training course for it this week and then have to write a review for an industry mag - should know more by then! I find it OK to 1 person op but keep it balanced for one specific camera and one lens so as it doesn't chew up too much shoot time faffing about.
I think only 'proper' 2 bucket hand washing with lambswool mitts etc prevents swirls forming, and that only after a power rinse and then a snow foam treatment - get the grit OFF!
This coating like Gtechniq Crystal Serum does harden and protect the paint a little. You REALLY have to get anal and a control freak afterwards though to maintain the gloss - NEVER let the dealer wash it etc.
The chaps that did this for me's details can be seen in the video. Make sure you use an outfit that measures paint depth etc before machine polishing - let no inexperienced monkeys loose with power tools on it etc! In fact you have to be approved for these pro only type products as getting it wrong means wet sanding it off - eek!!!

I then got her filthy driving 150 miles up the centre of Wales to here. Then we drove back - although my mobile phone decided to stay as it liked the castle.
Dewi, Criccieth Castle - did you guys have a Caldwalders Ice Cream Your secret is safe with us, your online PH friends

I had her Crystal Quartz smothered (like wax but longer, harder, better).
The guys did such a good job (way beyond the call...) that I made them a little 'walkabout' video for them as I had my camera kit in the other car. Honestly the gloss on the paintwork is absolutely staggering - far better even than my last pro applied Swisvax lovely stuff.

It was so wet all the way and I am utterly and totally staggered at the wet grip from the Aston on Michelin Pilot Super Sports. Honestly it is better than my (fast) Beemer in the dry on what I thought were superb Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2. Then we drove back - although my mobile phone decided to stay as it liked the castle.
I like sharing these thoughts with the like minded as less than 1% of my mates know I have an Aston...and I am gushingly deliriously aston-ishingly happy with her!!!
Fabulous weekend :-)
Looks fantastic. It's so glossy you want to lick it and I kept getting distracted by the shiny reflection of your steadicam rig.The guys did such a good job (way beyond the call...) that I made them a little 'walkabout' video for them as I had my camera kit in the other car. Karl you can lick her any time LOL. Honestly the depth of gloss is absolutely amazing and beyond even a new delivery (she's about 4 now...). Never have I been so unprofessional in unwanted reflections (I'm usually paranoid about reflections in just spectacles and use polarisers on lamps and then lens to avoid). Here I had no chance!
Ok - I have pushed a bit in Photoshop but that was only to make up for the poor lighting. Its all pretty real.

I have a corporate shoot coming up with a Ronin - would be good to see your review. I've heard that they're easier to balance than a Movi (although still a challenge!), but at least I'll have a an assistant to remotely operate the gimbal...Ronin - still getting to grips with it hence keen to practice.
