So what have you done with your Aston today?
Discussion
Took it along to the local Middle School.
My partner is Head of English there and she held a writing competition for them on the theme of racing. Aimed at getting those, usually boys, engaged in writing. Which is not something they are all into.
For the award ceremony I took my Virage and AM Newcastle brought along the DB11 and the new Vanquish S. They also donated some great pens and caps as prizes.
120 children and 40 parents were all lined up in the playground when we turned up. They had all the cheesy Bond music playing and the children absolutely loved it.
Can't post pictures of us in the school but here is one of us meeting up in Asda car park beforehand. Unbelievably the rain stopped for the hour we needed.
A massive thank you to Paul and Faye from AM Newcastle, they were brilliant.
All in all a good thing to do.

Excellent thing to do - boys often need motivation/reality check/kick up the jacksie! Any such high end vehicular aspirations don't just conclude with one landing on one's lap usually! I keep telling my lad he will end up driving a Ford Ka rather than an Aston/R8 ("only" £100k apparently - so he tells me)/Huracan unless he knuckles down a bit! Off thread a little but sadly boys are disadvantaged by our education system which ends up with far fewer of them going to university than girls. It's systemic rather than being down to the boys, it's been known about for over twenty years but successive governments fail to do anything about it, and of course no doubt contributes to male suicide rates being around four times that for females. Anyway, back in thread, I decided to clean and treat all the leather interior, which was very relaxing I have to say. Used this stuff which was recommended by a local detailer and after my son had tested it on his BMW cream interior
Have to say it's excellent - cleans well and the treatment is a doddle to put on with no scarmy marks or residue, plus the cabin smells like leather again. About £50 for both 1ltr bottles delivered

Where did you get those shiny seat control knobs?
There was a topic on here a few years ago about these chrome switch covers and I bought a set. They just fit over the existing controls with double sided tape (already fitted inside them) and they look good, but are not a perfect fit and a little bit of play in them
I do not need to adjust my seat as I am the only driver, but they look much better than the black plastic.
Here you go
