So what have you done with your Aston today?
Discussion
It's good to see everyone enjoying their Astons although unfortunately I'm really not enjoying my Aston experience to date.
Since the second half of August when I bought the car it's been back to the dealer twice already (you may have seen my "oil overfill by dealer" thread) and then last week dumped it's coolant in northern Italy on the 2nd morning of a 9 day Euro tour. The car is currently at Aston Martin Milan and awaiting repatriation.
I'll reserve my thoughts on the local dealership for now but I've written to the dealer principle and I'm awaiting a response. I've already said I will be forwarding my experience to date to the Aston CEO but will give the dealership an opportunity to at least show Mr Palmer that they've stepped up and dealt with the issues.
I hope Aston ownership gets better or I'm back off to Porsche.

Ohh Ian that is terrible - maybe a 20p jubilee clip or £5 pipe ruined your trip? Maccas very susceptible to this btw!
I'm bricking it over a puncture ruining an upcoming trip - not many 295x35 P4S supplies where we are going...
Yes, probably something very simple! We had a 12C on tour this year and it was faultless and has been on the last two tours as well. I'm bricking it over a puncture ruining an upcoming trip - not many 295x35 P4S supplies where we are going...

Couldn't it be fixed at Milan?AM Milan still hadn't looked at it the following day and then the day after I was told they weren't interested in repairing and would just send it back to the UK for my local dealer to repair. On Friday I was told they have replaced the coolant header tank in Milan but will still ship it back to my dealer. A week later it's still sitting in Milan and I'll be waiting for up to another two weeks for it to come back to the UK.
On the up side I was provided with a courtesy car after two days and completed the tour in a Skoda Octavia estate.....

My Vantage has been serviced in Aston Martin Milan and they are always kind fast and timely.
If you want i can ask for news about your car
A kind offer, thank you. Not to worry though I'll get it all sorted when it's back in the UK.If you want i can ask for news about your car
Enough of my woes though, let's hear about people enjoying their Astons!

Yes, well, you tend to take your antifreeze home with you but you know my little hobby horse at the moment: http://www.bridgetogantry.com/mclaren-oil-spill-ca...Ken Figenus said:

Aren't all 458's ticking incendiary devices?
Oh - just to try and get back on topic, don't all V12's ingest their primary cats?
All are entering urban mythology me thinks

This is true Mike - I asked another Mike at our service manager @MD if he had ever had a V12 munch its primary cats and he said no - only been in the game about 10 years I guess... Still...new equal length manifolds would be nice..just in case It has happened and unfortunately (for all invovled in that one) it tends to be high profile by the nature of the car

The only V12 cat eating story I have direct knowledge of was in a nearly new Vanquish that was being driven by a sales person at a main dealer. APPARENTLY (just in case someone dives down my throat again) the data recording showed that it failed when at about 7000rpm whilst the oil temperature was about 6 degrees Celsius. Just saying .............
