Got 'my' Aston back today after service and the AMi III Android Auto update.

First outing in it will be next week for my dads funeral, hopefully with a few more in attendance as well. frown

Just returned from first long road trip in the Vantage. Did around 1600 miles in 6 days from Cambridge to Trier and then on to Stuttgart (Porsche museum) Nurnberg and back home. Car ran like a dream and got several positive comments. Surprised at how interesting some of the roads were around the Ardennes and in Luxemburg. Need to go back and spend more time there. A thumbs up to whoever suggested Waze for routing as it was great.
Gratuitous shot in Luxemburg forest! Ok no idea how to rotate it.

Went to the factory in my Vantage to see the new one as a guest of Aston Martin Sevenoaks.

Many thanks to Paul Clifton and his colleagues at Sevenoaks as well as the Aston Martin staff.

Never seen a DBS that colour, looks amazing!
It's the only one I've seen as well, according to the build sheet its Aysgarth Blur (Q Special) - it needs a major clean, the camera somehow made the car look respectable.
Wow thats lovely ,what colour is the interior?

It's called Tetre Rouge, I'd call it Tetre Rude. It's incredibly bright red, all of it, the carpet and headlining are chancellor. It's quite common for Emirate cars to have a whole lot of red. Once my UK car has sold I'll be pulling most of it out and calming it down. Oddly it has grown on both Iris and myself but it's just too bright.

Is it similar to your old 'tandoori' one Nick?

Terribly sorry, I've been swamped and it's made me really behind on putting together DIYs... I don't have my notes on me, but off the top of my head:
-The lower front trim piece in front of the door mirror is held in place by double-sided tape. Peel off the old one, stick on the new one.
-The lower trim piece inside the arms of the door mirror is also held in place by double-sided tape. Peel off the old one, stick on the new one.
-The lower trim piece that runs along the door is held in place by clips. Pop them loose to remove the old one, clip in the new one.
-The rear corner trim piece is held in by clips. Pop them loose to remove the old one, clip in the new one. Be careful with this one because the clips point in different directions.
-The upper trim piece that runs over the top of the door window is held in place by screws. Pull the rubber door seal down to expose them (you don't need to remove it entirely). Remove the screws all the way to the very front of the trim piece and the trim piece will come free. Install the new trim piece with the screws. Push the rubber door seal back in place. The hardest part about this for me was getting the front corner seated perfectly. It's fairly tight so it took a little work.

Not a difficult job, just be patient so you don't damage anything. The trim pieces are very easy to bend.

I haven't done anything with it, but Topaz finished the PPF and delivered her back to the dealer. Roll on Tuesday!

After looking at the colour and stripe, then wondering if I should see 'big arches', I am now confused Peter.

Is your car a V8V AMR, without a wing? If so, presumably rare.

Aerokit is a dealer option Jon, none of the AMR cars have it as standard - it's not even a factory option, although a fair few of the V12 owners seem to be going for it. I doubt we will see it on many of the 200 V8 AMR cars as proportionally it adds a lot more to the cost.

Thank you Adam.
I am clearly having a job to keep up, with all the recent limited editions.

Saw your AMR car at Topaz on Tuesday, looks fantastic.

Has anyone else on here (apart from me) got a non-AMR Vantage that still hasn't left the factory?

wink There aren't that many are there? Let's have a think... Vantage GT8, Red Bull and AMR, Vanquish Zagato and AMR Rapide. That's not that many is it?

Don't get confused with dealer specials though, although limited in number, theses aren't limited editions in the way factory editions are. Dealers have been doing this with all manufacturers for decades, from Ford to AM so you can't count these as such.

You are right. It must be my memory.
Probably easier for you buyers. I believe you are the king of specification and option alternatives.
Standard option, Q option, Dealer Fit Option. Can have this, but only if you have that as well. Mind boggling.

Thinking about it, I wonder how many (factory) Vantage limited editions, there have been all together ?
I can remember, N400, N430, GT12. Oh dear, memory has stopped again. Help.

( If anyone wants to answer that, perhaps we should move away from this topic. )
