My car is being detailed at the moment, collecting it tomorrow, one of the issues I wanted corrected was deep scratches on the anodised grill, detailer wasn't sure how much he'd be able to get them out, I'll see tomorrow but this might be an alternate solution. Thanks for the info.
Mine had some a few stone chips and a scuff which had taken off the top layer of the anodise, nothing major but prefer things to look spot on. Car body repair people couldn't do anything as it's the anodise on top of the polished aluminium which gives it the translucent look.
The refurb includes stripping off the existing anodise, re-polishing and then re-anodising(which they did twice cos they weren't happy with the first set of results). You can see some minor striations from the re-polishing coming through the re-anodise but you need to be up close to see it but that wouldn't put me off, and I suspect if you went for black anodise then these would be completely hidden.

Good luck with the detailer and definitely good to have an alternative rather than a £600 new grille!...

Collected my car from the body repair shop. It’s taken 10 days but worth the wait. Super job and attention to detail. Thanks to Damien at RCP near York. And he charged me less than he originally quoted.

What's it been in for Soofsayer, 10 days taken a bit of time then.

Collected my car after a paint correction, Invisifilm PPF install and Ceramic coating.

Tomorrow it goes into Aston Wilmslow to get the driver side wiper replaced.

My only problem after that is stopping the front number plate falling off :/
Window wiper arm replaced and number plate reattached. Now I can stop fussing over it and start driving.

Hi shuzzy smile

I dropped one of my motorbikes and the bar end put a hole in the front wing just below the headlight washer. Nightmare, entirely my own stupid fault. They had to cut out the damage then do a repair which is plastic composite and reinforced fibre glass, then paint. The repair took a few days more than originally anticipated because Damien kept reinstalling the front light unit after each pass with the sanding compound to get the curve and gap exactly right, which took a lot of time up. Worth it though, looks perfect.

Some great pictures on here along with useful information about 'mods' etc. However, am I out of line for suggesting we keep it to the title? (what have you done with your Aston today)

Had my n/s rear light changed under warranty at Cheltenham Aston Martin due to condensation build up, then spent half hour this afternoon realigning both lights for a better fit.

This morning was good fun, a quick meeting at AM Bristol who were hosting a Michelin challenge for YouTuber's Seen Through Glass and Supercars of London. 3 supercar selfies in 24 hours; Bristol was the first stop - some lovely machinery on show, and the press car new Vantage, sporting some thoroughly used brakes (being replaced tomorrow!).

It was great to meet Ross; the roadster is wonderfully specced chap thumbup

Thanks Jon, good to meet you too. Thought it was a really nice crowd and both Sam and Paul came across really well. Nice little thing to do on a Sunday morning.

New Vantage is definitely growing on me, and next to it the black GT8, with the price drop to £194k is starting to look decent value.
