So what have you done with your Aston today?

[quote=telum01]This definitely won't be everyone's taste (and it isn't mine, honestly). The plan for our red project car was to build it to be completely different than my grey one. Bling wheels was part of that, and they definitely set the two cars apart. I'll be adjusting the coilovers for a slightly lower ride height, and putting on new 2-piece brake rotors this week.

I'm not a fan of new alloys or lowering but you've changed my mind! Those alloys really suit the car so what are they and can you get them in a single colour? Nice one...

Vanquish stuff...
Lord knows what's going on with YouTube's uploader today - pin sharp stuff goes in, a hazy, choppy mess comes out (might just be my internet connection!)
Sorry Jon! Travels got in the way and completely missed your shot at competing with the IT ladies and gents on YT Lord knows what's going on with YouTube's uploader today - pin sharp stuff goes in, a hazy, choppy mess comes out (might just be my internet connection!)
Gonna have a proper look in panovision when I get back!!!

Yesterday rather than today, but went for a drive the other side of the bridge into Wales, to record some YouTube content, and just for the fun of it. Just over 2k miles in 2 months, she's getting some use.
I have just enjoyed your Vanquish YouTube video. Any tv presenter who does not keep waving their arms around like a manic music conductor every time they speak, gets a gold star from me.
Your exhaust sound recording is excellent, with complete absence of wind noise for the exterior shots.
My attempts have been using a GoPro, with plug in external microphone including woolly muffler, positioned in the boot.
Not as good as your sound.
Can you give me any tips please, on how to improve that aspect?
Thanks.

I use a similar audio setup to that which you describe - including mounting a wireless mic in the boot (as it was so warm during filming the suction mount carrying the transmitter and mic fell off the back bumper). The wireless audio itself is a bit patchy (wireless kit from Amazon, not bad for £50 but a bit hit & miss in my experience ) - any sections of video with music dubbed over them instead of some exhaust noise, were where the audio packed up all together, but I didn't find out until I started editing it all back at home!
I've been using a couple of Rode video mics on both my main camera and GoPro (Hero 6 Black with the mic adaptor), after some trial and error it's coming around slowly. The biggest issue at present is finding sturdy enough suction mounts for the main camera - once I've cracked that then the quality should improve. The deadcat muffler does a good job of sorting out some wind noise. I found that on the occasion that the suction mount would stick to the rear bumper, the exhaust volume was a bit much for the mic being in such close proximity (exhaust valves had barely opened).

I would be interested to help produce a future video - could even compare the differences in character to a V8VS side-by-side. Have video editing and indoor setup experience and limited but good equipment. George could sponsor us
Loads of great scenery around South Wales and Herefordshire. Have a few routes I could recommend. Some make you test your own thoughts of how the AM “shrinks around you”
Getting off-topic, so if interested, PM me.

Good effort mate - Elan looks lovely in that weather! Just watch those audio levels - car noise had me diving for the volume control. Delicious mind! Have you got a switch or just removed the fuse?
Ta buddy; it was a bit of a mish mash on audio levels sadly - no fuses or switches though, just a secondary de-cat nickv8 said:
Seconded! Just managed to watch in peace and it’s a great video from an owner’s perspective (often more interesting to those looking to buy than slidey sideways vids).

Now there's an idea, we'll have to try and arrange something I would be interested to help produce a future video - could even compare the differences in character to a V8VS side-by-side. Have video editing and indoor setup experience and limited but good equipment. George could sponsor us
