I think the mirror auto-folding is a setting in the car menu.
I thought it was a dealer computer plug in job? Annoying when it resets after a battery cut.

It might be on newer cars, but not on early ones, the manual states refer to Dealer to enable/disable this function. wink

No heat discolouration at all .

Only takes five minutes to whip the cover off , no need to wait till it gets serviced.

It’s a check box option in the car menu in my 2012 Vantage S.

Took the car in for a service.

Apart from worn tyres and discs frown I also appear to have a slight leak from the timing cover.

What should I be paying to get that sorted?

Haven't you gone through a set of discs already, or am I thinking of someone else? Someone here went through some ceramics in 20-25000 miles, I'm sure of it. As a matter of interest, what's your mileage?

I think worn discs would put the fear of God into me more effectively than an oil leak (but maybe that's naive).

Actually, I think my car is already on its second set as the factory replaced the originals (former press car) before they sold it at around a year old. smile

But yes I was told by my main dealer about 12 months ago that these were on the way out due to a rattling I had at slow speed.
Thankfully that was sorted by a new set of pads via BR - I'll nurse the discs for a while yet!

Nearly 29k miles now I think, sadly I've not used it a great deal this past year!

Discs are coming down in price.
If I decide to keep the car and replace them I reckon I'll go with Rebrake in Germany at around €1k each exchange.

I’ve just had my 3rd service so still under the manufacturers warranty and there was a leak from the timing cover. It was worse than yours but I presume would need the same work. Labour alone was 12 hours so be prepared for that little shock. I guess that warranty work is as specified by Aston so if they pay for that time I imagine that’s correct.

They resemble cheese graters, I know. Perfectly serviceable but eat pads for breakfast yikes

Supposed to be removed, kiln dried and weighed to ascertain the amount of disc material remaining to check if in tolerance.

Rest assured if they are fked no amount of drying, weighing etc will make them better. Once they have turned to cheese graters they are done for, sadly.

I suspect Matt's are fked rather than low on disc material scratchchin

Getting back to the timing chain cover leak....... I know this used to be a fairly common issue on the early 4.7's, but I've never heard of it happening on a V12.

Have I just missed something or is this now starting to become more wide spread ? I assume the leak would affect all V12's ?
