So what have you done with your Aston today?

The dealer had an idea what it may have been when I phoned them and described the symptoms. They said they’d come across it before though it was not common. The fault only manifested itself when the engine was hot and identifying which injector it was with a hot engine was problematic due to difficulty in stripping down. Car is still under manufacturers warranty till mid June so they authorised all 8 injectors being replaced under warranty.
Took my little boy to the Shuttleworth collection for the day in the V8 Vantage - nice 170 mile round trip. If you were out in your DB9 Volante near Old Warden then I was the guy in the Silver Vantage Roadster waving at you! It's nice how other Aston drivers say hi to each other on the road Had it happen a few times!

Took the Vanquish to the Spring Cylinder Club organised by Dick Lovett. Brilliant morning, some special cars, great people.
Looks like it was a great day out - nice to get the old ‘gal out Must admit AM Bristol is losing a little shine for me. They started off very well, and have some great folk there in servicing and parts. But after 2 Vantages from them, I only ever got an invite to the Christmas shopping event and never anything else like this AFAICR.
Perhaps it’s because I only bought Vantages and not something more expensive. But shortly after the new mid-engined Vanquish was announced, I got in contact with them asking to put down a deposit. There’s never been a follow-up to fully initiate this.
I know it’s a bit of a toys-out-of-the-pram-like comment but AM ownership is all about the special things.
Decided to stick to my ‘16 V8VS and spend my money elsewhere. Love the Vantage and will get it serviced repaired at Bristol, renew my Timeless warranty there, etc.

It's the first one I've been to, and the first I'd been invited to - I found out the reason being that the firm that used to sort out the Aston invites hadn't sent any for the one last year, so there were literally no Astons attending. This has been fixed now fortunately. I'll PM you in a bit Must admit AM Bristol is losing a little shine for me. They started off very well, and have some great folk there in servicing and parts. Might be GDPR related as well on the invite front. No excuse for not following up the Vanquish enquiry though. yellow_tang said:
Swapped out the amps and installed extra speakers to my base audio to make it premium. Surprisingly the retail part cost is similar to the cost of Premium Audio as an option back in 2014...
Was it pretty straight forward? Did a dealer do this? My last Aston had premium but missing it on the new one!LPH said:
I had the aircon tested and re-gassed as it didn't seem to work. Even though it was re-gassed about 14 months ago according to an invoice I have that came with the car.
Local mobile air con specialist with very good reviews. Came out to my house, tested current system pressure, removed old gas (only 500g instead of the required 750g), put system under a heavy vacuum to try and find any leaks, vacuumed the system out (said there seemed to be a lot of air in it), added some new compressor oil, and recharged the system. He did the re-charge as a 'vapour fill' which means it's charged with the engine (and compressor) running rather than filling it static.
Checked the system for any leaks, checked the operation and that we had nice cold air (4 degrees c) coming into the cabin.
Was on site for just under 2 hours. Total cost - £60! Can you imagine what AM would have charged
Where abouts in the UK are you? I'd like this guys details if you're local to Surrey areaLocal mobile air con specialist with very good reviews. I got invited to one Cylinder Club event after buying my Vantage, and never got invited to another. I think I behaved myself!Gassing Station | Aston Martin | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
