Back to the drawing board. It was a pretty dull picture anyway.

Remote exhaust switch fitted buying parts on internet rather than ready made kit. Cost £12.

Hope the picture comes out, as this is my first.

Hi Bullet

I'd be interested to know which components you assembled to make this.

Thanks in advance

Picked the DBSS up after having the aircon fixed. And then a recall sorted. And given a reminder of why I never let anyone else clean my car (I haven't touched the paint myself yet). Car had done less than 100 miles when I drove it to be fixed.

Hard water:

Took the DB9 down to Devon to see a friend who has been admitted to hospital - fantastic 2 hour drive each way with the roof down all the way - I do love this car - and the beautiful thing is that with the cruise control set when I am in the outside lane and approach somebody else sitting in the lane they pull in to let you pass like no other car i have driven or own.

Also saw a very beautiful - and quick red jaguar D type (I think) on the M5 northbound - that guy was having some fun and boy did that thing sound great at speed.

How big was the leak? Mine did the same last year, and it was the AC compressor.

Not too bad. About 10cm across. Only a thin 'film' really.

Had the AC serviced a couple of weeks ago and checked over by a local chap. Did a very through job.

Looks like it's dripping from the same pace as in this pic (taken from the web, not my car)

Is it possible to distinguish between AC oil and engine oil? I've left it on the floor and not cleaned it yet. Guess I need to get it on a ramp and have a proper look.

My leak was about the size of 10p and was effectively inline with the front wheels but over to the near side.

You need to get it on the ramps really. If it’s the timing chain cover it’s a 20hr job apparently but some garages recommend leaving it until it really needs doing.

Yesterday at Donington Historic and a couple of decent parade laps. Excellent trip but a long day from Kent with a Coventry and Leamington diversion for dinner on way home and thanks to Mike for excellent picture.

Newcastle to Cheltenham and back over the weekend. The car (V8S) was an absolute joy for the whole journey.

Two points though, even though I did some ‘spirited braking’ I still had loud squeaking brakes when I got to my destination. It’s just not good enough.

Secondly on the way back M5/6/62 etc we reckon that about 65-70% of the motorway network was covered by a speed restriction. Unbelievable.

Managed to put a scratch in my DB11 alloys yesterday ☹️ I was up and 4.40am to take my 14 year old to a rowing regatta. At 5.05 as I was making pasta realised he had over slept and we had to leave at 5.10am ! I made up the time on the way to the coach pick up, but as I was pulling in to a parking bay I spotted a big pile of broken glass just in time. I swerved around it up then just caught the front nearside wheel on the kerb as I swung into the next spot from the wrong angle ! My fault, too tired and rushing - only got it wrong by a couple of mm but a nice scratch across the mirrored part of the spoke will remind me to be more careful in future every time I see the car.

Collected it from Proctor Cars, Derbyshire. Already enjoyed a full tank of premium fuel.

Do you know which brand of pads you have James. I get an occasional squeal at low speed coming to a stop but nothing like you describe

I’m guessing they are OEM.
It’s really embarrassing.

Without wishing to jinx myself, there may be a solution. My Vanquish S doesn't squeal. My DBS used to do exactly that - lots of low speed squeal, especially if I'd been driving in town. On the DBS, I tried loads of different pads (under warranty). They got much better over time but never quite went. [touches wood]The VanqS seems to have cracked it.[/touches wood]
