There is a mildly amusing story about the incident with Dean in the Vanq
I took Jamie out for a spin and on the out lap, putting some heat into the brakes etc, he was catching quickly. Just as I was about to indicate to let him by, a blue flag was waved at me (or was it a red rag). At that moment some form of mist descended within the car and off we went. Dean then told the story from his perspective, which was... I was catching you up and I saw a blue flag waved, I turned to my passenger and said watch now, that will upset him. I said that obvious huh....

It is unfortunate that despite the above, there remains a deficit in payments received as follows:
26 payments (including my own of course) £9160 (Shrek V12VR paid £410 in error), plus £100 from Paul for the Corvette paid in cash yesterday (unecessary Paul but thank you) total in £9260. The bill for the day; MSV circuit operators, £11,352 inc VAT + Instructors Steve £275, Karl and Michael @ £225 total £725. Grand total £12077,,, minus £9260 received, balance remaining £2817.

9 people to pay 2817 would be £313 each
Which is so near as to the original sum I've transferred £350. Gutted to have missed the day and sorry you had all the angst
I also think, even as a gesture, the attenders who actually used the instructors could have picked up the tab for the £725, with the committed track costs (of which you all got c40% more of) shared between the 37 (£306). Those who paid the full £350 but couldn't attend should be credited the difference
Anyway, I'm sure the "fk 'em" attitude was the prevalent one trackside, and this is always going to be losing a battle, so Bob I've transferred the £313 as suggested by Pete and I genuinely hope you get the remaining £2.5k down to zero.
Glad you all had fun.

Bob,
Congratulations on organising what sounds like a fantastic day. Still totally gutted I couldn't attend. £313 transferred to your account just now.
My vote goes to Donnington for next time BTW. To avoid all the financial angst in future my very simple suggestion is that you are not on the list until you have paid 100% of estimated costs to the organiser. If you pull out that is only returned by somebody else taking your specific place. Why not a deposit of say 25 or 50%? Because if you look at what happened this time that would still have left you very short of cash which is why I have paid the £313 rather than whatever the deposit would have been at the cut off time. Just my suggestion so that we can enjoy future events minus the financial stress.

Mike, great photos did you enjoy driving your car at speed ? Track days a such great fun...
Outstandingly good fun! Worryingly addictive...the car performed very well for me, especially the brakes! Had a 45 minute non stop session to round my day off and I only stopped as the childminder was getting tetchy!
Fantastic!

We are transferring the same sum to Bob this morning. However, we have to mention again that we were the first to pull out because we no longer had a suitable car AND a reserve took our place. So why are we paying? 2 reasons:Congratulations on organising what sounds like a fantastic day. Still totally gutted I couldn't attend. £313 transferred to your account just now.

A. Bob is an honourable bloke who set this event up with the best of intentions and we would hate to see him out of pocket.
B. We don't want to lose the friendships that we made on this forum even tho' we no longer have an Aston Martin.
Good luck getting the rest of the money in Bob.
