New Member/New (to me) Aston Martin DB9
Discussion
Hello everyone,
I had been looking for a low mileage, one owner DB9 for the last 12 months, meaning plenty of flights over to the UK to view a number of cars. For one reason or another none of them were quite right.
So it was a real surprise when I spotted a 2007, 19000 miles, one owner, Mercury Silver, Iron Ore, totally unmolested example in The Mansell Collection in St Helier. This is the garage owned and run by Nigel Mansell. It is an excellent operation with a fantastic exhibition of Nigel's racing trophies and cars upstairs. Oh and it also has a full 12 month warranty for my peace of mind and protection of my bank account!
So after an hour long solo drive, the deal was done, and I part exchanged my 911 Carrera Cabriolet for a beautiful DB9. It has a FAMSH with the Jersey dealer and Aston Works Service. Now I am driving it every chance I have. In the first month of ownership, I have done approximately 500 miles, which is going some on an island measuring 9 miles by 5 miles!

Congrats, sounds like a cracker, although a 6 litre V12 may be a little much for an island with a 30 mph speed limit, no?
There is a dual carriageway with a 40mph limit.Congrats OP looks stunning
+ please tell us it will be going for lots of trips into Europe to let it live and breath. Much as I love Jersey any fast car could go to waste there!
That is really nice, beautiful in fact. We are due to test drive one at noon today excited
Talking about Mr Mansel, I have the RV8 engine that was built for him by the TVR factory, in the day, fitted in my TVR Tuscan Challenge race car..... so if you see him, tell him its still going

Thanks you all for the kind comments! The island has various speed limits, with the standard being 30 mph apart from green lanes which are 15mph and any national speed limit applies roads that are 40mph
It is off on a couple of sojourns to France in the next few weeks including Le Mans, and then back to blighty for a drive in Wales. It does need to live and breathe as on island driving means it is guzzling a gallon of Super every 11.2 miles!

Well, that takes care of 1st gear!
When I stayed there in a friends home, we did hear a few super cars doing a 'tad' more than 40 mph, on quiet summer evenings. Perhaps it depends who you know.
Your car looks a stunner. I know you will enjoy owning an Aston Martin.
Did Mr Mansell, "thank the team for doing a groyit job"?
