Loud beep Vantage V8
Discussion
Hi guys, loving my new car apart from it has started doing a loud double beep about 30 secs after start up. I thought it was down to removing fuse 22 - excellent tip by the way, gives some of the benefit of that glorious noise even when pottering = but no, replaced the fuse tonight and still that beep. It is REALLY loud, only once, no warning lights, and everything else is fine. Any ideas? Can't find any reference in the handbook.
Its not a text message on the car phone is it??? I used to get those selling type texts... and it is frickin loud...and if you're not looking in the right place you have no idea what the hell its for?... other than that... if there's no messages on your dash.. maybe you ran over the Road Runner :-)

Roadrunner - never thought of that, that must be it. Not the car phone as I haven't got bluethooth (IT'S A 2006) and always 30 secs after starting up.
Mine never had Bluetooth either.. had a sim card in the dash.. own number... but doesn't sound like it would be.. and you can't see any messages if you press the read button??MEEP MEEP
Long shot, but do you have a speed camera nearby? If you have an active nav route in, which regardless of whether your using the SatNav or not, will activate a warning beep. I had it on mine for months, and didn't have a clue what it was until Jockman told me about this. If it happens in the same location, then that could be it. If it happens at differing locations, but always after start, then I'm talking st. HTH
Hi Richard
It sounds like it could be the phone. I used to have a 2007 V8V with the built in GSM option which required it's own SIM card, ie no Bluetooth connection. It usually makes that noise when there is an un-read text message. When you switch on the head unit you should see an envelope icon. Go in to the phone menu and read the message and that should clear it. Hope that helps.
