Hi Ian, I hope you have been able to enjoy the new car a little. How does it compare with your manual V12R?
It has taken a while but only got her last Tuesday. There was a problem with the roof and the car had to go back to the factory to be fixed but now all ok. It is currently parked up in the garage awaiting the paint correction work and the film going on. That should be completed by the end of the month so not too long to wait. Really only had the drive home - and love it. The lightweight seats are fantastic, the noise is quite different to the V12VR being more aggressive and love the crackles and pops on overrun. And the Colour !!!!!!!! The CF fascia also looks brilliant.
Whilst it was stressful not being able to get the car when we wanted my thanks to Grange of Exeter and the factory for resolving it to our entire satisfaction.
When we get a decent broadband connection back I will post some pictures.

Hi Olivier,Despite being the same model they are very different.
The Blue one has more power, 7 gears and lightweight seats. It feels very lazy in 7th and cruising but when you drop a couple of gears it is ferocious. The sound is very different, slightly higher pitched and sounds fantastic. I think the biggest difference is that you do not have to take yours hands off the wheel to change gear. My guess would be that the S can be driven significantly faster than the silver one.
However, I love the sound of the silver one and I love the urgency in each gear without having to change gear.
The fact is I love them both - and feel hugely lucky to have them both parked in the garage
Thanks for the review Ian. I would be proud to own both too, even one of them at this stage!
Contemplating the purchase of one or the other at the moment, only hesitation, apart from the financial side, is on the gearbox really as I'm not sure I will like Sportshift but obviously you do. Apparently this latest SportshiftIII version is vastly improved over the previous iterations and you have to drive it as a manual.
It probably suits the more extreme V12S well but I do like a proper manual gearbox though.
Maybe they'll do a manual V12S soon. Someone on here has ordered one apparently.

I recently went on a AM Factory Experience Day and lucky enough to be able to test the V12 S Roadster, with an experienced race driver beside me. Wowee!! I myself have a V8 Roadster, but what a difference. The soundtrack and sheer chuckability were sensational, and in diavolo red….awesome looking car!
