Hi all.

Looking to treat myself with a purchase of an aston Martin v8 vantage 4.3 version.
Have looked around for usual buying advise but also had some questions.

1) silly question I know but do some just keep their Astons parked on a drive way. I have a double garage but it's fully occupied and in use.

2) any key things to look out for and if I find one is there is reliable places to use to complete an inspection.
3) any other advise at all will be helpful in terms of running costs etc

Will be a second car used on weekends.

Thanks

Re," silly question".
Some people keep their Aston on the driveway, however faced with the same dilemma as yourself I decided to let my wife sleep indoors thereby freeing up valuable garage space so that I could then park my Aston in the garage. smile

I keep mine on the drive, 2 metres from the pavement in a rural village. Best car on my street by a mile and sticks out like a sore thumb.

Only positive experiences from neighbours, delivery guys etc. Usual crap from the birds frown

on amazon buy Grants book, the definitive guide, £20 well spent, everything is in there

yes mine is on the drive, it has been kept in a garage for a couple of years of its 9 year life with me, but garage has motorbikes in it for the last few years

running costs are usually detailed on here weekly if you do a search, or just read Grants book smile

I dream of a drive! I park it on the street in London eek

As for issues - top of the list has to be the clutch, probably make sure it's been replaced recently....
And the paint, look for bubbles.

Running costs - haven't really found out yet as I've only had mine a few months - spending a fortune modifying it has been the biggest expense! Plus the petrol! I've budgeted £2k a year for servicing etc though, we'll see how that goes.

Funnily enough I just read about the bubbling round door handles and a clutch costing around 2k which is fine if it happens.

You have me intrigued - what mods are you getting ?
