Many insurers do not insist on a tracker.
I remember a comment on here of a case where with the same insurer, the premium was less without than with a tracker.
Having two drivers can often produce a saving, even when you don't want the other person to ever drive your P&J.
Of course, shop around. Premiums vary greatly.

It would say which tracker on the tracker registration documents.
Unless not active ... then no point declaring it under insurance.
Also ... parking in a garage increases the premium, as opposed to parking on the drive.
Is that correct re parking in a garage ? My classic fleet insurer says the opposite ! Could be to do with fact it's a classic policy? Unless not active ... then no point declaring it under insurance.
Also ... parking in a garage increases the premium, as opposed to parking on the drive.

Funny you should mention the garage situation, the only reason that I am looking for insurance is because my current insurer won't insure my car unless it is garaged overnight, they have refused point blank.Unless not active ... then no point declaring it under insurance.

I will have to check the tracker documents to see if it states what type it is.
Thanks for the replies.
Ring Aston, they will want your VIN number. Then they can email you the factory tracker statement for your insurance company.
Then, activate the tracker and the service provider will confirm the tracker is active in writing. (Eurowatch or Vodafone(Cobra)).
Give both of these documents to your insurance company.

I'm sure the garage thing varies from insurer to insurer.
But playing around on confused.com I remember it being cheaper without being garaged.
Apparently, if someone gets in your garage, they are away from the public eye and have more time in their hands.
Plus there are a lot of cars damaged driving in and out of garages. The best laugh I had was when I was quoted MORE to insure my car if it had a tracker! Madness!!! They tried to justify it by suggesting the fitment and activation of such a device seemed to think I thought the car was at risk... I was looking around for insurance earlier this month and at least one told me that it was usually more expensive with a tracker fitted for the above reasons. Also had one company that wouldn't cover it unless the garage had a pager alarm and CCTV!
I have the same car insured with Admiral no tracker required.
