Vantage Final Edition
Discussion
Yes I was thinking the same; its quite confusing as the DB10 moniker is actually a Vantage - and may preview the new vantage with and with out the AMG engines.
This will be more likely as the DB11s are retaining the 'older' engine + turbo (although quoted as 'completely redesigned' V12 turbo) first before the AMG engines.

I just wonder if the plans for Vantage have been brought forward ...
One thing that is known is DB10 cues are to be seen in Vantage replacement ...

I could not understand why AML said there would only be ten DB10 cars, and none for customers. After the DB5 film appearance, sales of that model increased by 40%, so it clearly makes very good business sense, to have a James Bond car that customers can buy for themselves.
To continue our guesswork then, could it be that the DB10 will not being sold to customers, but the same car called Vantage, will be introduced as an early replacement for the Vantage Mk1? Then there would be a James Bond film car on sale.
I don't like the appearance of the DB10, especially the front, when compared to the Vantage Mk1, but everybody else might like it.

Indeed Jonby, an earlier post has already hinted and I can confirm (from my source) that there will be a DB9.2 [Edit: edition that may not be named] (separate from the DB9.2 GT)... perhaps this will be translated to the Vantage as per the Centenary editions.
As myself and many others on this forum were aware of the MY2016 changes for quite some time before the announcement at Goodwood (I had placed my order a few months ago) I was hoping for more 'preview information' on this new reiteration of the Vantage...
I am buying my first Aston with my heart (rather than head)... I don't want my first experience to be with such trepidation and uncertainty

Every model year there are several limited editions that really do confuse potential buyers and throw used values in to confusion.
It will get worse as they do run out specials

If AML were losing £1000 per DB5 in 63/64 it was surely not good business to hike demand by 40% by featuring in Goldfinger and Thunderball
You are wide awake today, David.
These days, Aston probably need to get the annual output towards 7,000 (up from 4,000) to achieve a pre-tax profit.
I just read on 6speedonline. Production stopped on all current Vantage models. Will be only one "Special Edition" model for 2016. Anyone heard anything? I've phoned 2 dealers, they're all "stupid" about this. I guess Aston is lucky these cars sell themselves because the salesmen couldn't make it at Kia.

It's that age old story of the customer asking David Brown for a favour - to sell him a DB5 at cost price rather list. To which David Brown said "certainly" and proceeded to send him an invoice for £1,000 more than the retail price...V8 Vantage GT said:

May it be new Vantage is launched before DB9 replacement. I understood 9 sales were holding up better than Vantage sales ? We will all know soon enough. V8 Vantage GT said:

As at this morning, UK dealers were certainly not aware of thisThe posters on 6 speed are all US based and may be reporting accurately on the situation there, but UK dealers are certainly not working on the basis they can't order more vantages. This came from the same dealer who gives me lots of info, as a number of people on here also know from their dealers, on models that become available well before the press are in a position to report on same - there is no reason to doubt the UK dealers you have spoken to are speaking anything other than the truth in this intstance - they genuinely are unaware of a cease in production or a final edition

Well, I've been told that there will be a final V12 Vantage S (2016) offered with a variant of the Vanquish interior and the option of a manual transmission. I already have my order in the hope that this is truly so...
Should I order it in Silver Blond or BRG... or Goodwood Green?
AMRG. Then you'll have something truly special (and worth more than all those black/silver/gray things down the road...)Should I order it in Silver Blond or BRG... or Goodwood Green?

Has it occurred to anyone that the temporary suspension in being able to order could be down to an issue in the supply chain
Aston not paying the bills again?I'm sure I can get some scousers to help out. Calm down

None of my info comes from dealers
Only some of mine does :-)But the UK dealers can still order Vantages as far as they are concerned
The US poster has updated/clarified on 6speed
Re: V8 Vantage, he claims that you can no longer order a MY16 car, as they will shortly announce one designation to replace V8, V8S and GT (GT is effectively a U.S. version of the N430 available in the UK), which will be a final/run out edition
He concedes that some people have already ordered and perhaps even had build start on the originally planned MY16 cars, so not sure how that will pan out. Suggest aug/sept announcement, possibly at Frankfurt
If there are a handful of MY16 cars built with Vanquish dash & the other MY16 improvements, but not the 'final edition' to be announced shortly, they may prove to be a real rarity collectors item !
However the upshot of all this, assuming the poster is both correct and it applies to the UK (not just America), is that this does not relate to V12V
